JOB FUNCTIONS:
PLANNING
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review inventory levels and forecasts for
assigned product lines; schedule future production
in a cost effective manner and according to department
policies.
2. Develop and analyze reports in order to anticipate
demand fulfillment problems. Work with Manufacturing
to expedite Production Orders and communicate shortages
appropriately.
3. Entry and maintenance of Production Orders in accordance
with Manufacturing and PPL policies.
4. Develop tools, systems and procedures that ensure
accuracy of MPS and forecasting system data.
5. Maintain global forecast templates and assist with
global forecast consolidation.
6. Review metrics and update forecasts for assigned

MASTER DATA RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION
SUMMARY:
The Black Diamond Marketing Department provides design,
editorial,
photographic, promotional planning and production resources
to develop,
maintain and evolve the visual identity of the our global
brand and company. The Technical Illustrator, in partnership
with the Technical Communicator, will drive the creation
of an illustration-based instructions and packaging that
communicates and maintains the integrity of the Black
Diamond brand identity with the appropriate technical
usage illustrators of BD products. In addition to driving
a new design language for multilingual instructions that
come with PPE (personal protective equipment) and other
CE-certified gear, the Technical Illustrator will execute
these illustrations for every style in the BD line.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Technical
Illustration, Illustration or Graphic Design.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Technical

SUMMARY:
Plan, create and edit new illustration-based instructions
for Black Diamond products. Must be motivated and a
self-starter. This position is responsible for driving
the new look, feel and multiple-language design of
product instructions from start to finish. It is a
fast-paced, deadline driven and business-critical,
project-focused position. In addition to defining the
new language and architecture of product instructions
(working closely with the Technical Illustrator), the
Technical Communicator will also serve as project-lead
in coordinating the needs of Product, Sales, Quality
and Legal departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Required: Bachelors Degree with minimum of a minor
in technical writing.
Work Experience
Required: 2 years experience in technical writing.

EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated ability

SUMMARY: Serve as product and category champion, researcher,
planner, strategist and primary communicator of category
direction to company, especially to Marketing, Sales,
Product Development team, and Finance. Develop, manage,
direct and track all aspects of strategic global product
and category line planning. Research, analyze and formally
report on industry, competitor and customer use trends
and influences to determine short, mid and long term
direction of product, product line and category.

Research, develop, manage and direct all aspects
of Strategic Business Planning relative to Category
and product direction and development for both domestic
and international markets and Director of Product

Management, for both new and in-line products, that are consistent with

various distribution/channel issues for both domestic & international sales;
communicate as necessary to Sales, Marketing, production and development teams;
conduct on and off-site product and category presentations to communicate same
to selected OEM, Key Retail domestic & international customers.
3. Provide, monitor and update initial forecasts for products until production
phase, create & maintain spare parts lists and forecasts for life of product & warranty
period, coordinate product launch dates and phase out of declining product
and efficient SKU management with PPL, Sales and Marketing;
4. Research, develop, and monitor product cost/margin/retail targets and
category and product briefs, communicate details and objectives as necessary
to design and development team, production team, Sales & Marketing, review and evaluate
costing/margin/retail objectives at various stages of development to ensure meeting
cost/margin/retail targets; assist Director of Product Creation with developing
and monitoring of departmental, category and product development budgets, and
marketing & promotional budgets relative to category.
5. Provide input to and conduct reviews of drawings, prototypes, etc. ,
both in-house and off-site, as required by product development team and
other development resources to build prototype product within the agreed
upon criteria, development timeline and budget.
Toolroom
TOOLROOM SCHEDULER |

POSITION
SUMMARY: The Toolroom Scheduler will supervise and direct the
Toolroom operations. Responsibilities include scheduling
fabrication, repair, and maintenance of process fixtures,
dies, and tooling and coordinating and delegating tasks
to toolroom staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED and 4 years experience
in Supervision or Management in Manufacturing
Preferred:
Trade school certificate or associates degree and
previous experience as a tool and die maker with
experience running and programming CNC Equipment

SUMMARY:
Assist in Receiving, Storage, Kitting, and Control of
Raw Material and Sub-Assembly inventory. Packaging

position will be responsible for the management and
execution of Black Diamond’s product development
process activities for the Ski product category. Responsibilities
will include:
- Leading
all development tasks for specific product development
projects for this ski product category from the design
specification hand off phase through to the final
product commercialization phaseCompletion
of the all required development functions in accordance
with the product design objectives and within the
published company development timeline, projected
product costing and spending targets.Working
as a member of a cooperative team based working environment.

supplier input during the design conceptualization

- Assuming
a managing role during the sampling and implementation
phase, whether made in-house or out, and provide
a seamless transition of the product into stable
bulk manufacturing.
A
BS in Mechanical Engineering and/or Product Design
and Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of experience
in ski hardware development and/or engineered consumer
product development such as snowboard hardware and/or
cycling components is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline combined
with a thorough global knowledge base and work experience
in ski hardware product design, testing and development
may substitute for above. In addition, experience in
sub-component supply chain management, project management
or industrial engineering in an ISO compliment company(s)
in outdoor recreation market and/or related industries
is desired.
Comprehensive understanding of global manufacturing
enterprises combined with the leadership traits and
communication skills required to manage business
development in this environment. Experience with
quality systems, lean manufacturing techniques, sourcing
and vendor qualification, product design, costing,
MRP and global logistics is required. Strong leadership,
collaboration and negotiation skills are mandatory.
Thorough knowledge of MS office tools required. Understanding
of 3D modeling, industrial design, demand management
and supplier contracts required. Must be able to
use the product in the field and provide critical
feedback on product function.

SUMMARY:
Design,
develop, and refine products to meet company goals – primarily the most complex & demanding
of parts, surface modeling, in-line product refinements
and new designs. Develop product specifications. Assist

Groups”. Establish control drawings of new products
and update existing drawings per the BD DCO process.

SUMMARY:
Conduct statistical and graphical analysis of test
data. Conduct product testing. Analyze test data,
determine product and component strength ratings.
Provide technical support for the Quality Assurance,
Engineering, Product Design & Development, Sewing,
PP&L,
and Manufacturing Departments. Define, implement,
and maintain quality records systems for test,
design, and product rating documents.
