VIDEO: BD athlete Adam Ondra working a project in Norway's Flatanger Cave
Black Diamond athlete Adam Ondra recently made his way to Hanshalleren, the massive granite cave outside the town of Flatanger, Norway, to take advantage of both the cool summer temperatures and the incredible potential for steep, hard climbing. Adam wasted no time in sampling the cave's hardest established routes, and he managed onsights of Eye of Odin (5.14c) and Nordic Flower (5.14c), the former of which had been established only days prior by Ethan Pringle. For those of you counting at home, that makes a total of 11 routes grade 5.14c that Adam has onsighted! He also managed to make the first ascent of Thor's Hammer (5.15a), which links the first 2 pitches of a massive, 3-pitch project. Below is a video of Adam working the opening section of a new 55-meter mega-project that he bolted in the cave—which he says could turn out to be one of the hardest routes in the world.
