BD Athleten Sonnie Trotter und Alex Honnold realisieren die erste Rotpunktbegehung einer 5.13a-Route von 28-Seillängen in Mexiko in nur einem Tag
Sonnie Trotter und Alex Honnold können beide 5.13 klettern. Das wäre also nicht das Problem. Aber eine Mehrseillängenroute in Mexiko im Schwierigkeitsgrad 5.13 mit 28 Seillängen an einem Tag? Das stellt sogar für diese beiden erfahrenen Kletterer eine Herausforderung dar. Wie bei jedem echten Abenteuer kamen die eigentlichen Herausforderungen erst zutage, als die Reise bereits begonnen hatte. Allein die Wand zu finden erwies sich als Tortur. Brüchige Griffe machten eine Onsight-Begehung unmöglich und mit den fragwürdigen Operationen, die die Einheimischen dort am Wandfuss durchführten, würden sich die meisten Leute schnell aus dem Staub machen und wieder nach Hause fahren.
