Rated 5 von 5 von Jon Kaw aus Solid Crag Pack This is a well made, affordable pack that has enough room for everything you need for a day at the crag. I was able to fit a 70m rope, harness, hardware, helmet, food, water, and guidebook without difficulty. The double side zip is brilliant and allows you to reach items in the bottom of the pack without having to pull out all the contents. The outside pocket fits guidebooks and smaller items well. The shoulder straps and hip belt provide plenty of support for extended approaches, I had no problems during a 2 hour hike with a full pack. The construction is burly and should last for years of use. All in all I've been very impressed with the Crag 40.
Rated 3 von 5 von TravisUT aus Simple but functional design, doesn't fit me well. I love the streamlined features of this pack. The cinch top is great and easy to use, the rope strap on top is a functional necessity, and the large tearaway zipper makes accessing the pack a breeze. I like the pocket on the front of the pack and found it handy for stashing a guidebook, snacks, and phone/wallet/keys etc. I even took it as my one bag on a recent trip to NYC. The material of the pack body seems exceptionally solid but time and repeated use and abuse at the crag will tell as to whether it holds up. The one thing I will say is an exterior water bottle pocket seems like a no-brainer to add. Those are the positives. The negatives, for me, lie in how the pack fits me. I am 6'0", 165 lbs, size 30 waist. I have a long torso and so I ordered the M/L. No matter how tightly I cinch down the hip-belt, it ends up sitting about a full inch (maybe an inch and a half) above my hips, even when loaded down with gear. I have tried different variations of tightness on the shoulder straps to help with this but I cannot get it to fit quite right. A bit of a bummer, honestly, because I love everything else about the pack. Especially the price. The componentry (buckles, straps, etc.) is rather basic because of this affordability, but by and large seems fine. Have definitely used it too many times to return it at this point, but overall I am satisfied with the purchase, I just wish that it felt like I was wearing a pack rather than carrying one.
Rated 5 von 5 von Paul aus EXCELLENT PACK After experiencing nothing but excellence from this company over the years, I felt the time had come to finally write a review...This pack is great for virtually any climbing/outdoors activity, but excels at trad climbing. Whats even more impressive is Black Diamonds warranty policy. Excellent pack, outstanding customer service and warranty, loyal customer for life!
Rated 5 von 5 von mherb aus Great Pack Have used this pack for the last 5 weeks on a climbing trip. Would highly recommend it! Lots of room for all necessary cragging items, including a full rack. Side zipper makes it easy to access gear. Durable materials and well throughout design.
Rated 5 von 5 von Grey aus Great all arounder I just purchased this as my first gear bag and I have to say it's pretty great I was unsure what bag to get because there are so many out there but this takes the cake. Very affordable while having awesome features like the full side zip and the awesome deep front pocket. Get this bag if you unsure you won't regret it!
Rated 5 von 5 von Tony aus Great product. This is super comfortable for walk-ins and carries a ton of stuff. It’s now my go-to for most rock climbing activities. Very well constructed does no more or less than it needs to.
Rated 5 von 5 von Jack aus Versatile and simple This bag does it all. With a simple, study, and useful design, the Crag 40 was well worth the price.
Rated 5 von 5 von TenTonKodiak aus The Perfect Crag Pack. Seriously. I've had the chance to use this pack for a couple of weeks now, taking it on both short and fairly long approaches. This pack completely swallows two full racks of cams, nuts, ATCs, a dozen alpine draws, a dozen lockers, a variety of runners; harness; rock shoes; chalk bag; guide book, 32 oz Hydro Flask, and helmet with ease. The top strap easily held a 70 meter rope in place without issue. For both short and long approaches, this pack was super comfortable. Both the shoulder straps and hip belt are nicely padded, with an exterior fabric that's soft and quick to dry. The pack carried the weight well, fitting my small torso. It doesn't breathe terribly well - my back was pretty sweaty, but that's a non-issue for me. The full side zip splays the pack and provides great access to loading and unloading your gear, with the double-zip as a nice feature to fish out things at the bottom of the pack. The exterior fabric is super burly and even after man-handling it on a lot of Southern Arizona rock, it still looks brand new. If you're looking for a simple, affordable bomber pack, pick this one up. It's sweet!
