Gold Label Glue Renew Transfer Rolls wurde bewertet mit 4.5 von 5 von 8.
Rated 4 von 5 von aus Just like New! I must say this Gold Label Glue Renew is sticky like new! First, You have to ask yourself what is your time worth? In order to prep your climbing skins, you must have your skins clean before applying new glue. After 13 hrs of removing the old glue, preparing for cleanness before applying new glue, And make sure your Labrador dog stay away from that sticky glue renew!!!,,, and by now you can see the look of what had happened to my dogs hair look like.., Plus having the right tools to do the job. Since my time is more valuable of horsing around with this messy job, Overall, I'd finished the job! My set of climbing skins is now ready for my next upcoming touring seasons. In my opinion, A new set of BD climbing skins will be my best choice!

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Works great if you're careful I completely refurbished my skins, but it took at least several hours, mostly to get used to how much heat to apply. Removing the excess glue was hard, as it sticks to itself, and sometimes you pull away glue you want to leave on the skin while trying to pull away the excess glue that's sticking on the edges. The packaging of the transfer sheets is not altogether convenient. When you unroll them, the glue (on my sheets) stuck to the wrong side of the sheet, so I had to tease it back onto the correct side, losing some of the length of the sheet in the process. Also, no directions indicated that the sheet (one long roll, instead of two roles, one for each skin) had a gap in the middle with no glue at all. This meant I had to piece together pieces of the roll to do the second ski. I couldn't have done this properly without the video posted by Facewest/Black Diamond in the UK. Definitely google and watch this video! The directions with the skins, for example, don't tell you that you have to peel back the rip strip first (and save it!) before removing glue. Also, it's easier to scrape the glue off, once heated, than to use kraft paper for the whole job. I used a nordic scraper for this, which worked well. Replacing the rip strip is simple after letting the skins cool overnight. All in all, I'm delighted with the result, although I haven't used the skins on snow yet, waiting for my first trip of the season. By the way, I see in one blog posting that one way to renew your less-than-sticky (but still relatively clean) glue is simply to heat it with an iron. You need your original backing strips (white paper) to do so. In testing this in the process of using the transfer strips, I found that just having reheated the glue (and let sit overnight) restored a lot of stickiness. Alas, I'd already removed a lot of the glue, so I proceeded to use the transfer strips to replace it. If your skin glue is still relatively clean, and yet the stickiness is akin to a post-it note, try reheating the glue instead of buying new glue.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus I found it fairly easy while it is a bit messy to get rid of the old glue it sure didn't take all that long, maybe an hour. I just used old newspaper and kept ironing over new sheets till there was no old glue left. I found that it was a bit tricky to get good even coverage and had to go back a couple times to remelt the glue so as to fill in places where it hadn't covered on the original pass with the iron but I put that up to my lack of experience. This is the fourth time using the iron on glue sheets because I fixed an old set of skins for my grandson, I've renewed an old set of skins for myself and then I had a horrible glue problem with a set of G3's I bought and had to redo the glue three months after buying brand new skins, that's the set I just put the newest glue sheets onto and I had to do that due to contamination from alder pollen because I ski so far into the spring and summer.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus Works, but not easy They work well. Stripping the glue is much easier if you heat with an iron and then use a scrapper. I used a car ice scraper which was cheap and worked well. They don’t tell you in the instructions, but there is a break in the glue. So glue the first skin, and then roll the paper out until you see the gap with no glue. This makes it easier and also avoids any gap in glue on the skin.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus Easy application I found it extremely easy to apply the Gold Label glue. Considering the original glue on my skins was almost nonexistent it's was fairly quick process. Only negative would be the first couple times removing skins I could see dry spots appear where the skins removed some wax from the bases of my skis.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Glue Renew worked great!!!!!!!! I have done this several times for myself and friends. With a little care and patience the job comes out fine. Read the directions through. Set up your work space and get to it. My newly glued skins work like new. The glue renew will save you money and extend the life of your skins.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Did a great job of renewing the glue on my skins Renewing the glue on a set of skins is tedious and messy job but a lot less expensive than buying new skins. My old BD skins are in good condition but the glue had gotten very soft. This did the job after considerable effort but that is inherent in renewing skin glue.
