Rated 1 von 5 von aus Bought them twice, both with defects. Very disappointed with them. In my first trip plastic clippers are broken.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Customer Service I wrote a two-star review regarding the plastic on the fliplock cover breaking upon first opening the 2018 model of these poles. I wish I could update my review because, while this is still a probke with that model, Black Diamond customer service fixed the problem and made it right and made a customer for life in the process. Long story short: Buy the 2019 model of these poles and know that Black Diamond stands behind their products.

Rated 2 von 5 von aus Bad design flaw on the plastic flick lock covers Just returned my second pair of these trekking poles from Amazon. Posted my review there as well as REI. On both pairs, one of the plastic flick lock covers on the lower end of the poles was broken, right out of the box. After doing some research, this appears to be a very common problem, therefore a common complaint. I've written Black Diamond about this. I don't see how just replacing the broken covers with the same cover will solve the underlying design problem. Until then, I won't be buying Black Diamond trekking poles. If I don't hear back from Black Diamond soon, I'll be buying Leki. Scratching my head wondering why this hasn't been fixed. Black Diamond is better than this.

Rated 3 von 5 von aus some design flaws I bought this about a year ago from REI (just posted a review there, too). I bought the women's size. I have the same issues as a couple of other reviewers: I almost lost the lower half of a pole hiking, since the shortest setting doesnt allow the lower clamp to be locked down. Also, after just a few uses, the plastic cover on the clamps broke on 2 of the clamps. I know it's not integral, however, it does keep snow and dirt out, and it feels like poles at this price point shouldn't have parts that crack so easily. I'm considering exchanging these for Leki poles the next time I visit REI.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus Trekking the AT I love these trekking poles so much I bought a pair for myself and my wife, then recommended them to a friend who will hike the AT with me in 2019. The poles are exceptional with one slight flaw: replacement flick locks seem to be a mystery! My first attempt to replace both lower and upper flick locks was based on advice from a Black Diamond CSR who sent me 18mm and 16mm flick locks for the top and bottom respectively. These were all plastic instead of metal with plastic hoods like the original. A second call to Black Diamond got me a different CSR who provided a RMA number for the original replacement flick locks and sent metal flick locks with plastic hoods, but these were 14mm. Based on the original equipment flick locks, both reps were partially correct in their advice and subsequent fulfillment. I do, apparently need 18mm for the top flick locks and 16mm for the bottom, but they should be metal with plastic hoods. If these exist (except on new poles) no one at Black Diamond seems to know about them! I will have to add, both CSRs were very polite. I just wish I could repair my poles and those of my wife. My hiking partner also needs (at least) lower flick locks on his poles. Suggestions appreciated. Otherwise, these poles are excellent!

Rated 3 von 5 von aus Plastic cover on FlickLock arrived broken These trekking poles seem great, but the plastic cover on one of the FlickLocks arrived broken. This makes it pretty difficult to open with your fingers as the metal part is rather narrow and a bit sharp.

Rated 3 von 5 von aus Design fault or just me unlucky? Love these, sturdy, lightweight, great handles...but when I try to shorten them for caring, the thinnest section keep on sliding on and out, I wonder if this is a design fault or just a problem of my pair, it's just doing it on over of the poles so...
