BD Employee Lorenzo Bagordo reports from his trip to Albarracin, Spain

Lorenzo took some time off and flew to Spain, where he spent a few days in Albarracin in a super-nice Bouldering area. Below is his report and some photos:

It's been two years since my first trip to Albarracin, and then it was clear to me that ‘I'll be back.

Mother Nature almost ruined my plans, as the volcanic ash from Iceland reeked havoc on the airports across Europe.

Planned flight: Cancelled... keep cool! Three days after the scheduled flight, I got the rental car and drove from the lowlands to Sierra de Aragon. Relaxed, but still a bit stressed.

Under a pinewood forest, the compact, red and uncountable Sandstone boulders of Albarracins- the best bouldering spot in Spain. The spirit of this amazing landscape in unreal. Just imagine all the brown, green and blue hues all at once. A dreamland!

Albarracin was made for Boulderers, everybody there knows that. Together with a motivated group from Targasonne, we climbed the plumb-line up a anatomically perfect edge. The move was very athletic and since the landing was pretty good, my spotter just played his guitar.

One awesome problem after the next, until everybody was spent. Even the stray dogs who were chasing thrown pinecones all day.!

The style of this Boulder area ranges from 'classic' to 'inhuman moves, man'. In the evenings, after barbequing, drinking wine and a bonfire, we all slept under the stars with croaking frogs, barking dogs and a guitar-playing local. We dream about the next day and float into sleep. Tranquilliti Tio!!
