Ski Line Promotion: Susn is On-The-Road with the BD Bus!

Our Ski line Promoter, Susn, is behind the wheel of the BD Bus, driving non-stop with a huge stash of Freeride Skis and Boots. After three weeks on the highways across the entire Alps, it's time for an update from the front lines. Here's what she had to say:

Route

It all began just after New Years, on Grand San Bernard at a Dealers Test for the upcoming ski collection. Unfortunately, the winds came up and made it impossible for us to test the freeride lines in the Super San Bernard ski area. But the locals told us about a little ski area further down the valley, and it wasn't too bad at all as we found some nice, untracked line in the forest.

After a short stop-over in Verbier, it was on to Italy. Exactly where in Italy I can't tell you, because I promised the locals. But here's a hint, the drive is farther away than you'd think and it passes by a famous lake. The luck we had that day was immense; it snowed for two days straight, and the storm subsided right as we exited the lift at the top station. A half-hour later, the clouds were gone and we had an unreal powder day with uncountable runs in waist-deep snow. No wonder that the Megawatts and the Drifts were the favorites.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay a few days longer there and enjoy a few more lines in all that virgin snow. Onward with the BD Bus heading east, next stop: Alta Badia. With no visibility, we weren't able to do any of the classic descents from the Marmolada. So we skied the snow right next to the piste, and no one was complaining.

That same evening, on my way towards Germany, I made a quick lay-over to visit some friends. The skis got freshly tuned and my friends were priviledged to a private Megawatt test. The verdict: surprisingly good, even with only 15-20cm fresh snow. Ok boys, next time bring more snow and I'll bring the skis and we'll go ski for real...

A few days later, we headed towards Steiermark and then on to the Arlberg. The snow left a lot to be desired, and we were only able to test the skis on-piste. Nonetheless, most everyone found a new favorite. The new Aspect has been nominated as the secret weapon for next winter! It's good to be curious...

So that was a brief insight into the life of a Ski Line Promoter. As for the BD Bus and I, it's time to catch our breath and then head onwards into the French and Swiss Alps.
Until next time, ride on and pray for snow,

--Susn
