The employees and patrollers at the world-renowned freeride ski-area in La Grave, France are equipped by Black Diamond. In addition, BD has a Test Center based in the Hotel Edelweiss in La Grave.
The ski-patrollers and snow-safety crew at the Jakobshorn ski-area in Davos, Switzerland trust BD Equipment for their daily missions.
Freeride Testcenter Diavolezza
BD is the Ski equipment partner of Diavolezza, a fantastic freeride ski area. Working together with local mountain-guides, we offer ski-tours, test gear and an avalanche rescue practice area.
Check Your Risk is a project from the German Youth Mountaineering Club (JDAV) regarding Avalanche Prevention and Risk Management while freeriding and backcountry skiing. Check Your Risk uses BD avalanche safety equipment such as the AvaLung, shovels and probes.

In our BD Test Center in Cogne, Italy, it's all about ice climbing. Here you can borrow BD ice gear free of charge. The Viper, Fusion and Reactor ice tools, Cyborg crampons, Half Dome and Tracer helmets and even ice climbing gloves are available. On top of that, you can also test La Sportiva shoes and Arc'Teryx clothing.

DAV Summit Club, the German mountain-travel agency and mountaineering school, is the market leader in the German-speaking countries for worldwide mountain travel with an emphasis on hiking, trekking, expeditions and mountain biking. Black Diamond stands as the exclusive hardware equipment supplier of the DAV Summit Club.
The Mountain Academy is a training project for young, motivated alpinists and climbers. For the past two years, select athletes from all over Europe have been invited to participate in multiple training camps of the various disciplines of mountain sports. Top sponsored athletes from the pro teams of Mountain Hardwear and Black Diamond coach and nurture the talents of youngsters. The Mountain Academy is a company project from Mountain Hardwear, in cooperation with BD, Vertical Magazine, Sport Schuster München and Gore-Tex.
DAV Expeditionskader (expedition squad of German Alpin Club)
In the expedition development squad of the German Alpine Club (DAV), talented and highly-motivated youth alpinists are led by experienced mountain guides and top alpinists to lofty goals. The young climbers and mountaineers are coached and overseen over a three-year period, to later achieve an international top level in alpinism. Black Diamond will be the official hard goods sponsor of the DAV as of 2010.
The European subsidiary of Black Diamond lies in Reinach, near Basel, and is within walking distance fof the climbing areas of the Basler Jura. The ecological preservation of our home crags is something that strikes a chord close to our heart. The common-interest group "IG Klettern Basler Jura" seeks a compromise to keep these crags pristine. BD supports this interest group in various ways, especially in halting farming road construction.
B2 Boulders & Bar
B2 stands for "Boulders and Bar" and is the best spot for boulderers, and those looking to get into the sport, in the greater Basel area. The B2 offers more than 600 square meters of climbing surfaces, and is exactly what boulder-lovers covet.
