Cobra Pillar (Alaska) VI 5.11 A2 second ascent and La Zebree 14a first redpoint.
Memory/story of the first time you ever went climbing? I was 15 and I hiked up to the local crag and asked the guys (who were climbing) to let me try... Since that first moment I've been hooked...
Favorite climbing area and why? Yosemite Valley. It's full of history, it's big and the rock is amazing. I really like Moab too. The potential around Moab is simply endless... there's so much rock out there.
Best climbing experience? Topping out Cobra Pillar on Mt. Barill in Alaska. We had no experience in that kind of climbing, but we managed to do it.
Worst climbing experience? I took a 40-foot fall while ice climbing. I almost hit the ground but was un-hurt...
What's your dream trip? Where? With who? Free climbing a big wall like Trango or Fitz Roy with good friends.
Guilty pleasure? Coffee.
BD gear you use every time you go climbing? The Chaos, Oz biners and draws and the C4s.
Something that annoys you while climbing? Crowds...
What/who inspires you in climbing? The beauty of the line is what inspires me the most. Having fun with a good friend is what I like the most.
Favorite après-climb meal?
Almond butter, apple and cheese Sandwich. With a Coffee!
Favorite climbing flick? Progression.
What's in your iPod? Lot's of different stuff, but lately I've been listening to the Black Keys, Seasick Steve and a lot of blues...
Strangest place you've ever woken up? Next to a toilet bowl...
Strangest person you've ever woken up with? I don't know.
Three things you'd never roadtrip without? iPod, coffee maker and mandolin
Superstitions? I always put my right shoe first...
What's your dream job? I already have my dream job: I work for BD!
How are you training when you are not climbing? I run, bike, cross-country ski and lift weights...
If you could steal one thing and not get caught, what would it be? I don't know.
If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive) who would they be? Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris and Hulk Hogan (my youth heros).
Do you have any tattoos or piercings? I had a piercing in my eyebrow, but it was annoying while climbing...
