8th annual HERA Climb4Life recap

From September 18-20 2009,  Black Diamond hosted the 8th Annual HERA Climb4Life in Salt Lake City, Utah and I’m super stoker I was a part of it this year! Volunteers, participants and pro climbers from all over the country (and some even from other countries) met in Salt Lake City to raise some major dough for ovarian cancer research.

heraThe event kicked off Friday night with the Hang Time Party at Café Trio where good times were had with great company and delicious food. After that, it was time to get down to business! On Saturday and Sunday, HERA participants headed up American Fork, Little Cottonwood and Big Cottonwood canyons and attacked the climbing walls. Our group had such great energy and we all had a blast together! It’s pretty amazing to hang out with a bunch of strangers that all have a common love for climbing. And to think we got to have this much fun while benefiting ovarian cancer research!

HERA ended things right with the “Partay” back at Black Diamond’s campus. Everyone enjoyed one of the last nights of summer with drinks, tasty taco’s from Rico’s and we all got groovy on the dance floor.

All-in-all, the event was a great success! This being the first Climb4Life after the passing of HERA’s founder, Sean Patrick, it was evident that the remaining leadership is inspired and will keep HERA going strong.
