VIDEO: BD athlete Renan Ozturk recovering from skiing accident
Black Diamond athlete Renan Ozturk was badly injured this past April while filming backcountry skiing near Jackson, Wyoming. Renan took a nasty fall off a cliff that left him with a depressed skull fracture, partially collapse lung and fractures to two vertebrae. After surgeries and days in the ICU, Renan has slowly begun rehab and physical therapy, and recently put together this video of his first day back out on the rock. Good luck with the recovery, Renan—it's great to see you back climbing again.

What a cool video! So much personality and emotion for a 2 min film. Great story telling with beautiful time lapses and footage in general. Best of luck with your recovery. I'll certainly look forward to any future camp 4 films and dog cams. Really impressive movie making!

Love the inspiration picture on the exercise bike! Third time will be the right time. Glad I was up there for the 2nd go.

Wow! Renan! Gratzi on the recovery. I love it when you hook up the crane. Your videos are unlike many. I like feeling like I'm seeing through your eyes. Your use of POV and the total experience are great. Keep it up. I say it's better to die trying to live than to be stuck on a couch slowly dying from normal. Keep it up. I've got 4 herniated discs, 3 muscles that have been ripped to shreds in my back and I've lost 105 pounds. It's the journey. I started climbing on 5.6 and felt worked. Heading into 5.11 after 3 years and loving it. Guys like you keep it real and honest. Thanks for the 100's of hours your creativity has fueled in great entertainment! Give em' hell at BD!

My climbing partner was recently injured in a fall- fractured vertebrae as well. Thanks for this- I forwarded it on, and hope it'll be encouraging for her.
