VIDEO: Greenpeace activists get busted climbing Mount Rushmore

On July 9th, 2009 a group of Greenpeace activists went climbing... on the face of Mount Rushmore, which is, uh, pretty much totally illegal. The crew climbed the famed American icon, rapped down next to Lincoln's face and hung a massive banner to raise awareness for global warming. Despite getting Peter-Pan'd around by the banner as it blew wildly in the wind, the activists managed to get the banner rigged, where it stayed hung for an hour until less-than-stoked NPS officials removed it. The Greenpeacers were immediately arrested (surprise, surprise...) and are currently nestled into a South Dakotan jail, awaiting arraignment on illegal climbing and federal tresspassing. In the meantime, a behind-the-scenes video of the whole caper has been posted on the Internet. Check it out here, and be sure to take note of the dude getting whipped around by the wind. Vertical rodeo!

Thanks for posting this BD Crew! FYI - quite a bit of BD gear was used for this action. A rack of Camalot C4's kept everyone safe!
