Ultra Distance Z-Pole receives coveted 2011 Editors' Choice Award from Backpacker Magazine

z-polez-poleInnovative. Stunning. Revolutionary. Beautiful. We can now use another adjective when describing our Ultra-Distance Z-Poles: AWARD-WINNING! We recently received word that our Ultra Distance Z-Poles—carbon-fiber, three-section, foldable trekking poles—won the coveted 2011 Editors' Choice Award from Backpacker Magazine. Obviously we are thrilled with the award and proud to see such praise being laid upon our ground-breaking Z-Poles' technology and design. Thank you, Backpacker!

Currently featured in the April 2011 issue (on sale now), Backpacker's enthusiastic review of the Ultra Distance can be viewed below or downloaded in PDF format by clicking here.

Bought a pair for summer mountaineering in New Zealand. I liked the idea of a light, compact pole that wouldn't weigh me down when stashed but could provide more security on long approaches over rugged morraines. They worked perfectly for three weeks, until while descending one of the poles snapped where the flick-lock button pops out. Hence, I now only have one functioning pole. I was hoping to get a longer life out of the pair, but I guess I should not have expected an ultralight product to stand up to such a heavy-duty application...
