Registration is open for the 9th Annual HERA Ovarian Cancer Climb4Life in Salt Lake City, September 16-19, 2010. With the Wasatch Mountains as the backdrop, the educational and fundraising event includes rock climbing, hiking, and trail running, along with a cadre of dedicated volunteers and passionate participants.
Professional athletes will be on hand to offer beta and belays. The 2010 pro line-up includes Mike Libecki, Justin Wood, Rocco Bocchicchio, and others. On Friday evening, HERA will present a selection of climbing movies from the Adventure Film Festival, and on Saturday night, host its annual dance party at Black Diamond. HERA has raised over $1 million dollars for ovarian cancer research, and recently awarded its largest grant to date—$100,000 to Dr. Kwong K. Wong, who is researching causes and potential treatments. The Climb4Life events—held annually in Utah, Colorado, and Washington D.C.—are HERA’s largest fundraisers, with participants and volunteers returning year after year. Climb4Life events welcome women, men, and children of all ages, and require no rock climbing, hiking, or running experience.
