BD athletes Drew Stoecklein and Angel Collinson take first and second place respectively at the Chilean Freeskiing Championships
Black Diamond athletes Drew Stoecklein and Angel Collinson took first and second place respectively at the Chilean Freeskiing Championships (the first stop of the Freeskiing World Championship tour) in El Colorado, Chile. Skiers from 11 countries descended upon the famed Max’s Face at El Colorado for a heated finals battle on August 21 with Collinson missing first place by 0.7 points(!), while Stoecklein (who has a gut-crushing cocktail of vodka, pisco and coffee named after him at the local bar) skied an aggressive line that took him to first place. Ask about his performance after the comp, Stoecklein proudly stated, “I sent it on the hill and I am going to send it at the party tonight.” See photos below for shots of Angel and Drew at the party, as well video clips of Drew’s winning run and Angel's second place run.
