BD employee Thomas Hodel climbs the north ridge of Switzerland's Weisshorn

Thomas Hodel, the Product and Marketing Manager at our European HQ in Switzerland, recently sent us some beautiful photos of his quick trip into the Alps last week along with the brief note below. Looks like there's still quite a bit of snow in the high peaks of Europe!

I'll keep this short because I need to go into another meeting but in case you want post in the Journal something from mountaineering in the alps …. Pics attached. I did this trip last week. Finaly stable weather here in Switzerland!
weisshorn
Location: Europe (where the real mountains are) - Switzerland – Wallis
Route: Weisshorn Northridge (Weisshorn = white peak)
1st night in Cabane du Tracuit – Bishorn (4153m above sea level, 1st peak) – northridge - Weisshorn (4505m, 2nd peak)

I wanted to do this route for a few years. And I already stood on both peaks, but never climbed the ridge between. I’ve been there last year, but got shut down by a thunderstorm. So I used the great weather period last week to do it.

Really a beautiful mountaineering route here in Switzerland. Highly recommended. Climbing time from hut to hut is around 10-14 h.
