Give me all the Black Diamonds!!
Funny thing happened the other night as Black Diamond's night shift was wrapping up after a long week of forging carabiners and assembling crampons... our night manager was making his final sweep of the entire Black Diamond complex and ran into a dude with an ice pick looking for jewels and precious metals. Apparently he had been laid-off recently and thought that he could make a quick score of some "black diamonds" because that's what the sign said.
Here's the story that was found in The Salt Lake Tribune the following morning:
Robber sought who made off with Black Diamond Equipment computers, climbing gear
Black Diamond » Manager told suspect the company didn't deal in actual diamonds

Salt Lake County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who robbed a climbing and skiing equipment manufacturing company early Saturday morning, police said.
About 3:15 a.m., a night shift manager and another employee were working at Black Diamond Equipment, located in the 2000 East block of 3900 South, when the shift manager confronted a strange man walking around in the plant, said Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson. He had apparently entered through a door left unlocked for contractors to enter and exit.
The man threatened the shift manager with an ice pick and demanded "the precious metals and the money," Hutson said. The manager explained that the company does not really deal in diamonds or precious metals, and the man instead demanded anything of value.
Threatening the employees and their families, he loaded up a cart with company computers, climbing ice screws and other miscellaneous items of value. He got into a white 1990s-model Ford Escape-type sport-utility vehicle with round head lamps and drove away eastbound on 3900 South. The employees waited about 10 minutes before calling police. A search of the area did not turn up the vehicle.
The suspect is described as a Polynesian man in his 20s or 30s with a full-sleeve tattoo on his right arm. He is about 6-feet-3-inches tall, medium build, with a shaved head, and was wearing a red polo shirt, khaki pants and a gray square-shaped watch on his left wrist.
