Its versatile size and large rope-bearing surface make it ideal for everything from after-work sport cragging to big-wall free climbing and long alpine ice routes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brent from Back to the basics The 'new' hotwire seems like an updated version of the original... which is fantastic. I've still got a bunch of the first gen hotwires that have been on my rack since I bought them way back when. I'm psyched to see that BD has retooled such a good all around biner and taken it back toward its' roots. Nicely done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mike from Great Carabiner I bought a few of these to take up on a recent climb and they worked great. They are nice light weight but still strong carabiner. I primarily use them for my anchors because their shape helps to keep the rope off of the gate. As always with BD products, the quality is very good.
