Rated 5 out of 5 by Rolf from Best climbing pack ever! I've been climbing nearly 30 years, I always seemed to have been attaching gear on top or on the outside of my packs. This pack holds everything inside, I love the bucket shape and the fact that it stands up straight. I can carry a rope and all my gear to go cragging or do long trad climbs. Plus there is still room in the outer compartment for food, an extra jacket, and the guide book. The pack carries very well and makes the load seem lighter than it is. The only improvement I can think of is to add a good way to hold a water bladder, I like to drink while hiking. I just stuffed my bladder in the compartment where the frame is, but that's not ideal. Great job Black Diamond!! Setting the Standard!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Glenn from BD employees choose this pack Disclaimer: I work for BD. Ok, so perhaps my review is biased because I work here, but consider that I work at BD and have essentially free access to just about any pack. The Creek 50 is definitely the one I choose. There are days when there are 4 or 5 employees going out together and we all have Creek 50's. It holds everything needed without stuffing and squeezing; the exterior is clean and travels well; and the side and top access is ideal. For pure sport climbing and crag lounging I'll use the Pipe Dream but most of the time I keep going back to the Creek.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Russell from Awesome Crag Pack The pack body is perfect. It is very durable and will hold up to a lot of abuse. The front pocket is great for clothes, water, food, and other gear. The pocket is much larger than it appears. The zipper to the bag and pocket allow for great access. The pack harness could use some refinement. It is well padded and the hip belt is good, but the shoulder straps have an extra bit at the top that rest behind your neck. It makes the pack uncomfortable for long approaches. I've considered cutting that part out. It looks like a yoke for horses. Other than that small detail it is a really great pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Benjamin from Simple and amazing! I really love how simple and easy to use the creek 50 pack is. The haul bag design makes it easy to keep upright. The zippers for both large compartments are long and allow easy access to all my gear and make it easier to pack gear too. I thought at first it could use more pockets to store my personal items but the two zippered pockets in the front compartment are enough. The straps and belt are super comfortable. I took it on a 16 mile hike and it was Comfortable the whole way. I've only had this pack for a month and I've used it a bunch. It has been easy to clean, very durable fabric, and no issues so far. I would recommend this pack to anyone who is looking for one pack to hold all their gear and then some!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jason from Rockin Perfect crag pack. I can fit everything in it for the day. I have it loaded up with everything needed for sport and trad and I keep it in the truck or garage loaded up for an easy "lets go". Gobbles up; 70m rope, set and half of camalots, set of stoppers, two half sets of tricams, set of sport draws, set of trad alpine draws, accessories i.e. lockers, belay equip, rescue misc, cordolette, gloves etc, two pairs of shoes, helmet, harness, guide book, tape. And still room for food and keys with out having to stress zippers. Carries great. No wall haul feel. Have not done any more than a 30 min hike with it but felt good for the 30 min. I bought to get crag gear out of a BD Spinx 45 that I use for alpine, ice and mountaineering. I love the top load open and ready to drop stuff in. Beefy and durable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by John Clayton Q. from bottom of pack wears too quickly I've been using the Creek 50 regularly since the end of June and the bottom is already starting to get some small holes. The rest of the pack is amazing, but it would have been nice if the bottom was a thicker material (more like a traditional haul bag).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeremiah from Well designed From one use I can say this: it holds a lot of gear and it does so comfortably. The Creek 50 has a "bombproof" vibe. Open the draw cord top and load it up. The padding in the back protects from all the lumps and bumps. The shoulder and hip straps make wearing the pack a pleasure, not a pain. The "personal" section remains securely closed while on the trail by virtue of the top compression strap and includes two zippered pockets, one see-through (guide book) and the other not (wallet, phone, keys). The main section will hold water, food, and extra clothing separate from your gear. Conceptually, the rain hood/rope strap feature looks effective and I like that it zips out of the way into it's own compartment. I think this must be the holy grail of gear packs.
