Description

Whether teching your way up a run-out granite slab or hucking laps on the splitters at Indian Creek, the Aspect is an engineered trad climbing machine. Built with the highest grade European leather upper, the Aspects balance comfort with performance using innovative designs that subtly set it apart. Lace up a pair and you’ll notice that the leather upper slightly covers the laces on the outside of the foot—specifically designed for protection during abrasive jamming. The shoe’s tongue is made from our Engineered Knit Technology, which adds breathability and comfort. The knit also extends to the outside of the shoe to just under the rand line to offer extra padded protection for foot jams. The lateral stabilizer rands increase precision by keeping your foot from rolling when pressure is applied to the outside or inside edges. The Aspect’s stiff and durable rubber is unique in that it’s molded—inspired by the way we forge our carabiners—and not cut from one sheet of rubber. This is our engineered solution to optimize our shoe’s rubber and rands for weight, consistency and comfort. The Aspect's medium-flex midsole adds support without sacrificing comfort. So next time you’re eyeing that trad line, consider the Aspects a part of your rack. Get the whole story here.

Climb Shoe Comparision

Aspect Climbing Shoes is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-around climbing shoe I've been climbing in the Aspects for just shy of a couple months now (strictly in the gym), and so far, I am very happy with them. I bought them to replace an old pair of La Sportivas I had been using for my all-day, all-rounders. Like a bunch of others who have added their reviews, I was concerned about sizing. In some street shoes, I'm a 10, in other street shoes, a 10 1/2. I tried on a pair at a retail store, but even then, I wasn't sure what to expect after breaking in the shoes. I ended up actually measuring my feet with a ruler and then looking up my official US shoe size based on foot length (I think I got the conversion/measurement chart from Zappos). Based on that, I'm officially a 10 1/2, so I went with that when I ordered directly from BD. I definitely had to put in the time to break them in, like with most other climbing shoes. In the end, I'm glad I went with the sizing that BD recommends for men = go with your regular street shoe size. I'm not about to wear them around the house as slippers, but they strike the right balance of precision and comfort after breaking them in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alaskan aspect I've worn the mythos for a couple years so I was worried about getting a new shoe that could be as comfortable. The aspects felt good straight out of the box and hold their own on the rock or in a gym. Super stoked to see BD making shoes and the new store in Alaska

Rated 2 out of 5 by from expected too much Leather, knit tongue and laces performed as indicated but the rest fell short as advertised. 1. FIT- the toe end didn’t stretch out after months of using it. In comparison to a more aggressive shoe (evolv shaman) that i’m currently using. 2. Wear and tear-after 6 months of using it the toe rand got exposed which i find weird because 6b is the hardest route i can do. 3. RESOLE-the exact thickness (4.3mm) and rubber is not abailable in the market so having the close to original feel is impossible

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Climbing Shoe I am a beginner and was using the rented shoes at the gym. In comparison, these have been great for smaller holds and smearing. Cant believe I didn't buy shoes sooner! The laces also really help with getting a snug, customized fit for your foot (that may be more subjective depending on how the person likes it though).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super comfy! I got these like a month ago and I climb in the about five days a week inside and they’re holding up well. The inside of the shoe is super stick which makes it so that your foot doesn’t slide around inside the shoe. My only dislike is that there is a stiff spot right behind my toes that digs into my foot, but that’s probably just my pair and not a big deal. Also they look super cool!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not that sticky They seem very well made, but are not at all sensitive. I have a small size 8 foot and got a 7.5. They have yet to break in as some reviewers claimed. I would recommend trying them on, I don't think the fit is for every type of foot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dope Face and Crack Shoe Whether you're looking to slab you way up that heinous Jtree 5.11b, jam and stem up your favorite crack, or edge up the thinest of face climbs. This is the shoe for you. I've tried these shoes on a plethora of rocks and found they hold up to the rigors of being a weekend warrior. they're stiff enough to make you not want to hate your self on those difficult crack climbs but pliant enough to smear up most greased out slab climbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Liking Them So Far I am a newbie who generally advances more quickly than most in sports I take up; so I wanted a shoe one or two notches above "beginner". These shoes check my boxes, so far. Initially got a pair in my street shoe size and they were unbearably uncomfortable, so I actually went up one size and they fit very snugly. My second toe is longer than my big toe, so I simply tape the two together, and that works for me. Highly recommend, even though I can't conceive how anyone goes down 1/2 to 1 size in these.
