Rated 5 out of 5 by Pete from Love it! Easy to use and multi-purpose. I was originally intrigued and found many activities to pack it along. A weeklong bike tour won me over and then some: light at night, phone charger until the next town/gas station. So impressed with my first one, I've ordered a fleet for any base-camping, car-camping, rafting, etc. adventures.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Owen from Good, but could be better I love the lantern / charging station concept behind this lantern! + It's great on weight in-sensitive trips - It uses AA instead of the increasingly common AAA batteries. - The AA batteries don't power the charger USB port (I think?)... so as soon as the Li Ion battery is drained, it's just a bulky Moji lantern. + Great easy to use design - I think like the charge switch/snap will be easy to break :-(

Rated 4 out of 5 by akclimber from Great for tent life! I've been using one of these charging stations for the last month in my tent and I use it every day. I can go 2-3 days of use morning and evening on a single charge "no batteries". Charges an i-phone 2 times fully. The light output is quite perfect. Weight doesn't matter much to me I got this item for more of a base-camp piece and it is good for it. We will see how long it lasts, but I love it right now. I feel that it won't break under tough travel conditions and it seems to do well on output even when operating at -30F. The hooks on top are convenient for hanging the lantern and the screw off battery compartment is easy to access even with gloves on. I haven't fully tested the max burn time. but it's good enough for my needs. If needing it longer I would just carry batteries or use a solar charger. The only thing not awsome is the charging time. For a full charge it can take 3 hours.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Goyo from BD support saves the day, again Previously wrote a review about the electronic charging portion not working. I submitted a warranty claim and was very quickly mailed a replacement. Thank you BD! Unfortunately the issue seem to still occur with my iphone 6s plus. So I decided to try it with other USB devices and it works fine. Something about the draw of the iphone seems to make the BD latern think it's not there or charge complete? Anyway, great lantern if you don't have an iphone 6s :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by Goyo from Great idea, doesn't work Bought this a few months ago. As a lantern it works amazing, buts it's a really expensive lantern. The charging station doesn't work, it auto turns odd after a few minutes, regardless of how well it's charged. not sure how that's supposed to help any electronic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JDLH from Great idea...not great for iphone 6 Purchased Nov 17 for myself and Christmas gift. Charged fully per the instructions. Will not charge an iPhone 6 for more than a few minutes without shutting off. Made a warranty claim on 12/26/17. Hopefully I just got a lemon. But so have others... Will update review per pending resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Meatloaf from Small yet powerful I lost my old Apollo lantern and I was looking for a compact camp lantern, then I found it. Look no further, this is the lantern for you. Has a internal rechargeable battery and another battery pack for back up. Charges all the stuff that goes dead. Bright when you need it and dims down so it’s not to hard on the eyes when it’s pitch black. Way to go Black Diamond! You out did yourself with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by matski from Moji Lantern Rocks! Charged the lantern up and took it to an off grid cabin for a two night stay. It was amazing, the amount and quality of the light that it was emitted! It is light and fairly compact for it's functionality. I used it to charge my cell phone the third day, for my trek out. It held its charge through the weekend, no problem. I'll be ordering a couple more to have for emergencies and car, too.
