Rated 5 out of 5 by Nature Calls from Black Diamond Moji Perfect Camp Lighting I gave each one of my children one a Moji for Christmas and took my daughters on my last backpacking trip. I was real happy with it and the amount of light it gave off. Was perfect for a camping situation. Bright enough to light up a pretty big area for working, but could dim down to be not so intrusive. The clip system was easy to use and perfect for my hammock ridgeline. The one button operation was super useful, especially if it was dark and you needed light to do something in the middle of the night. I didn't know how I would feel about the rigidness of the whole lamp, but learned to appreciate it when shoving in the backpack. I would easily take a lot of hits too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Darroch from Great portable area light This light does exactly what it is supposed to do and with a clean, simple but very functional design. I spend a lot of time living in a dome tent in base camp type situations, where a small area light is a really nice extra. This one is about the size of an apple, flat on one side to set it on a table, and has a clever hook system on the other side to hang it from the ceiling of the tent. The low profile design means that it won't be constantly getting knocked over, and it is bright enough to light a local area but can be dimmed to save batteries. Add to that the low price and I can see this being a great stocking stuffer next Christmas!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Justin from Great Little Light I wanted this as soon as I saw it advertised by BD and bought an extra as a gift (what guy doesn't like a flashlight?) It's a tough little lantern that you can throw into a pack without worrying about it. It seems fairly well sealed so it should be reasonably water resistant. The dimmer ability is a bonus. It gives great light spread when hanging from something. The lateral light spread when sitting on something is not that great, but not surprising due to its low design and not much to reflect it sideways. One surprise I had when I received it was that there were no batteries included, that should have been disclosed more obviously and is the reason for the four stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Milton from 2 lanterns, not same bright. I bought a blue one, the brightness is OK. I bought an orange one a week later. The light is obviously dimmer than the blue one. I exchanged the battery between the two. Same result that the blue one is much brighter than the orange one. Blue is OK to use. Orange one is not useful. Different brand/part of LED used?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jaymes from "My Favourite Lantern Of All" This is my go to Lantern for anything backpacking, or light weight/space conscious trips. The brightness is incredible for such a small package, and the durability is excellent. The impact resistance impressed me... This light set the standard for me, and so I bought the bigger one ( The Moji XP Lantern) and it delivered a better package for everyday use. This Moji Lantern, is the most functional "lantern" you will receive if all you need is consistent 360 degree light angles, and no focused light/flashlight built in. Definitely Recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Allen from the glow is nice Using this in our van and it is a nice way to light up the back for reading. Need more then one if you want to light up the space for activities like cooking etc... but if you are just hanging out reading then one is great. Easy to move around as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by David from Low Volume and Lots of Light Just returned from a late-season climbing trip in the Palisades Glacier. The days are obviously a lot shorter and expecting more time in the tent, we needed a reliable source of light but something small enough to add to our already heavy packs. The Moji Lantern was perfect. I especially liked the dimming function that allowed us to save battery life. This was ideal when needing just enough light to search for clothes or relatively easy to find items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jeff from Small and super useful I bought one of these to replace a BD Orbit that gave out on me, and I've been pleasantly surprised at its usefulness. Two things: it's smaller than I expected, and it's brighter than I expected. The whole thing is well smaller than an adult's fist, but puts out plenty of light, which can be dimmed easily. The range of light isn't as strong as some of the other BD lanterns, but it's pretty much perfect for inside a tent, cooking dinner, or other nearby camp chores. I was walking with the Moji for a minute this weekend, and it really doesn't illuminate far ahead of you down the trail, but again, that's not what it's designed to do. I also can't speak to its durability, which has previously been my beef with other BD lighting products. But it seems well constructed, and appears to have a durable design. Super good product, particularly for the price.
