DescriptionOur rugged, fully waterproof workhorse for foul conditions and big adventures, the Black Diamond Storm Headlamp now features 350 lumens of power and three different colored night vision modes. The redesigned lighting profile offers improved peripheral lighting for close-range activities like cooking, reading or sorting gear, and the Storm also features our Brightness Memory, which allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to full power. Eight different lighting modes allow for fully custom lighting in any situation, and our PowerTap Technology makes for instant brightness adjustments.
- One QuadPower LED and one DoublePower white LED emit 350 lumens
- Red, green and blue SinglePower LEDs for night vision have dimming and strobe settings and activate without cycling through white mode
- PowerTap™ Technology allows instant transitioning between full and dimmed power
- Brightness Memory allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to full power
- Sleek, low-profile design uses four AAA batteries
- Settings include full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red, green and blue night-vision, and lock mode
- Waterproof and dustproof: Sealed housing withstands immersion up to 1m for 30 minutes (IP67)

Rated 5 out of 5 by John W from Hard to beat This is a very well designed and manufactured light. The slight increase in weight is worth the features over lighter models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by matth802 from Excellent general purpose headlamp This is the second generation of the Storm that I have owned. I have used them for hiking, camping, canyoneering, and caving. They don't have the power of a dedicated caving light, but serve well enough considering the size. Brightness is good, battery life is excellent. Durability and waterproofness so far have been perfect. I lost one once when it fell off my helmet while I was trying to unstick a rope in a canyon, but I haven't broken one yet. This generation is much easier to change the batteries - no screwdriver required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by vgibbens from Great Light! Bought this light on a whim and I couldn't be happier with it. The multi color LED is great for times when you don't want the super bright white light. Being able to "tap" the side and get the light boost is great as well. Have used it during our recent dove hunts and coyote hunts. This light is great for early morning hours and night hikes in the Arizona desert. I have absolutely no complaints about this light. Those reviews about the light being complicated to use are nonsense.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bearpeople from Made it worse! I understand the urge to chase more lumens, but the old storm was light and plenty bright. Felt less bulky too. The only problem with my older storm was the main switch could be accidentally triggered during storage, resulting in dead batteries. You recessed the main switch in the new storm and made it difficult to manage with gloves on. Over-engineered I'd say. All-in-all this is a poor upgrade?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Trevor from Sounds like you have a mosquito on your head!! I bought this and upon purchase turned it on and was bright so thought I’d be good. First day I put it on my head to use it makes a loud buzzing like a mosquito is on your head full time and it’s extremely annoying. I would definitely recommend not purchasing anybody that doesn’t like obnoxious sounds. Totally unnecessary for a tiny light to make that noise, I can’t believe this made it past Black Diamond quality control..

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kelly from Defective? I've had this headlamp for a few months with very limited use. Always seems like the batteries are dead. Now when I push the button it just cycles through all the light options . white, blue, red, yellow ... I'm guessing it is defective. Only was to change is to pull the batteries to reset it. I"d also like BD to explain exactly how they tested the burn time on this headlamp. 40 hrs on high is an outrageous claim.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Patje from Grate light but..... Is it normal that the light beam does not give a even white light, but that the core is yellow with yellow cicle around it. I find it quite disturbing!
