DescriptionDesigned to extend the technical midlayer’s comfort range across changes in weather, season and activity, the Black Diamond Deployment Hybrid Hoody employs a mixed-materials approach for summer alpine expeditions, mid-winter ski tours and everything in between. By strategically combining ultralight Schoeller® softshell fabric and PrimaLoft® Silver Hi-Loft insulation with our merino-blend Deployment fabric, the Deployment Hybrid strikes a functional balance between insulation and breathability that eliminates unnecessary layering adjustments throughout the day. An integrated mesh lining helps manage moisture on steep approaches, crux pitches and technical descents, while two zippered chest pockets ride above your harness and store small essentials.
- Low-profile, under-the-helmet hood
- Concealed zip chest pocket and slash zip chest pocket
- Mesh lining for added breathability
- Stretch cuffs
- Weight: 530 g
- Size: S-XL

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hanks from Best Mid Layer for anything! Great for Skinning, Ice climbing, Belaying, and Looking Rad! This Hoody is so multi-functional. It breaths great while being active and retains core warmth on those cold days. This on top of a base layer and a shell is all I ever wear while in the backcountry. The DWR coating helps repel water when using it in a light rain or while on an ice pitch. I haven't found a purpose this thing isn't good for. It's also durable enough to last a 23 day Grand Canyon trip where it was worn every day. Didn't even smell bad at the end (Or maybe I just couldn't smell myself at that time haha) Get this thing! You wont be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by rpj1 from Misleading "Denim" color in photo This hoody is built well. Materials and construction live up to the expected Black Diamond high standards. Only two gripes: The first is that I ordered the "Denim" color expecting it to be a dark navy blue like the photo shows. It is navy blue around the waist and parts of the arms, but the upper torso is a more Royal blue (see photo). Secondly, and this is more of a heads-up than a gripe, be aware that the Deployment Hybrid Hoody has no front hand pockets (It does have two zippered chest pockets). Summary: solid jacket but misleading photo and no hand pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marty from R.A.D. Some jackets go to ten; this goes to eleven. It's the perfect blend of light and warm for fair weather days here in California. The length of the arms and torso should become the index by which all others jackets are cut. It'll stay put under a harness and the arms won't ride up while reaching high or if you're leaning forward. The hood is cozy but doesn't inhibit your line of sight, and the high chest pockets are out of the way, though the vertical zipper has a tendency to jam easily making it hard to open and close with one hand. Overall, this is the best insulated jacket I've bought in over a decade and I won't need to get another for many, many laps around the sun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brad from Game changer...Amazing backcountry touring piece and bicycle commuting The Wasatch just received a big storm that lasted a number of days and brought in a bunch of cold weather. I have been touring in this piece as the single layer (no t-shirt) and with a base layer underneath. If you add the alpine start hoody to this combination, it is BOMB PROOF. The back wicks away sweat when touring with ease. The Primaloft loft does a great job of keeping the key areas warm. When bicycle commuting, this layer with the alpine start is awesome as well. The Primaloft hoody fits well underneath a helmet (but not over the helmet). A baseball cap fits well under the hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jonathan from Go to warm weather aerobic jacket Very comfortable warm weather jacket for days when you are working up a sweat and need protection from the wind. Perfect sleeves that are a little long - translation - no drafts. Hood fits snug and is perfect for hydration activities at the end the day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Smitrov from Awesome ski touring piece. This jacket is warm enough to not be freezing when you get out of the car to put your kit together, but regulates your body temperature for the uptrack. I am a ski guide and dont ever leave my house without wearing this jacket and I never take it off until I get back. Great design. Only gripe, is the chest pockets are a little bit too high and slightly tight to get a phone or other items in comfortably. The puffiy hood is great when the wind kicks up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nate14 from A solid layer for any condition I've had this hoody for a few months now and have worn it almost every day under my Ski Patrol vest. It is perfect for California winters where it can be 15F in the morning and I am doing alot of start/stop work and by noon its 45F and sunny! I have never had to shed this layer with changing conditions or work load and throwing a shell over it is more then enough for a pre dawn snowmobile ride up the hill. Thanks for making a solid product BD

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grant from All Good - a well thought out piece. I bought this for skinning in the Northeast - my climb is about 1300' in 1.5 miles. So far, it has been perfect with insulation in all the right places and a hood that has been there when I needed it. I was considering the Patagonia Nano Air at the same time and feel I made the right choice picking this. I'm looking forward to having this for hiking when the temps get a bit warmer, too.
