Cold Forge Down Hoody is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magic jacket I got the 2017 model last summer and I've worn it as a daily winter coat and also on some trips to chamonix, Austria and all over Alaska. The down is responsibly sourced and the mixed in primaloft helps keep the down puffed longer and will keep you warm longer, the new model has some nice black fabric on the inner wrists which is a great touch Stay warm guys

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to puffy! I have been using this coat for a year and absolutely love it. Its extremely warm yet not to bulky. I love the earthy colors of these coats as well. I wear my coat as a base layer on the coldest days and around town in the winter. Amazing coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Versatile Jacket - Crazy Warm! I bought these jackets for our EMS Rescue crew as our standard winter duty jacket. We live in Gunnison, Colorado, pretty much the coldest spot in the continental US. Our crew absolutely love these jackets -we hammer them in the front country, wrecks, backcountry, wherever. I am totally impressed with the build and warmth; they are very light and highly compressible. I consider them true to size. My one criticism that pretty much everyone has is the Magic Johnson arm length -yes, the arms are a bit long. However, none of my guys are really bothered by this as there is a great seal against a glove with the extra length. Also, they ride low on the hand minimizing skin exposure to the elements. You can also easily push up the arms past the elbow if you're working and get too warm. Some of the woman complain they are more of a men's fit -fair enough, I don't see that as a design flaw, but if you're buying one for your wife, consider the cut. All in all, super high quality down jacket that has withstood the rigors of EMS work in a very unforgiving environment. We are extremely pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for anything Warm midnight jacket that is very versatile .I like the jacket. It has a trim fit with room for additional layers which is pretty cool because you could get a wider temperature rating out of it ,yet it doesn’t look big or Bulky . But having said that it’s long in the arms and torso ,which seem too long for older Black diamond shells to fit right ,unless you buy a new shell which I did ( liquid point shell ). Its really the arm lank which annoyed .It doesn’t fit like the Hot forge which is for warmer weather.I have gotten used too it Because the wrist are cinched lightly it won’t fall all the way past the bottom of hand .I do love the jacket, I use it from 30 to 0F hiking and around town. Simple, highly effective ,go to jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm without overdoing it on loft Fits true to size. The jacket is a medium "puffy" in terms of loft, which means it is still compressible without taking up a lot of space in a pack. The little feathers still come out of various locations just like any other down jacket, but so far it has held up okay. The hood and cinching on the hood leave a little to be desired as there is only a head circumference cinch, no chin/face cinch. If you're looking to take this jacket into the arctic, it is not designed for that. I'd rate it satisfactory with a base layer at 15-30F. Any colder and you need more layers or some activity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably warm, extremely light, very impressed I purchased this jacket after my other puffy from Mountain hardware and Patagonia didn't seem like they were warm enough. After wearing this in Vermont skiing in 15 degree weather, with a long sleeve base layer, I couldn't be more impressed. I was almost too warm at times. The other reviews state its like wearing a cloud or being bear hugged and they are dead on, sooooo light and comfy. Im 6'3 225 and BD stuff is always great with my longgggg arms.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the same it used to be I had this same jacket for years but the new ones aren't nearly as nice. Very basic and thinner feel. Less colors and no soft cloth near neck area. Feels much cheaper now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm Used this on multiple skiing days in the backcountry and on the resort. It is like being hugged by a giant bear! So warm! Fit is regular and still fits well under some shells, sharp end shell works great with it.
