Alpine Light Pants is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing runs small I have several size large pants from BD. These seem to run small though. I am 6'3" and 220 lbs, I wear a size 36"x34" pant. Although I can put the pants on, I cannot use the internal belt as its too tight. The front pockets also pleat out (sign they are too small). Being small, they were still comfortable due to the generous stretch of the fabric. Will be returning and ordering an xl. Its strange that the alpine pants fit in a L, but the alpine light does not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and cool for warmer temps The perfect pant for spring or summer. If you like the Alpine pants you will love these thinner versions. They have two rear pockets without zippers and a simpler belt system. They have he same side pocket w/zipper. The zipper is hidden from abrasion and will for a Topo perfectly, just at the reach of you right arm. These pants will dry out quickly if they get wet, the material is quite breathable and noticeably thinner hannthe alpine pants. The do have an excellent water repellancy when new. It wasn't raining all on and off the first time I test drove these pants. The approach was in wet grass, knee high.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Terrific construction; odd sizing I loved the old Schoeller BDVs back a decade ago (which were a big step up from the Rock Bottoms of the 90s!) and liked that these were lighter and had a trimmer cut. For whatever reason, the smalls were too small for me and the mediums were just too baggy. Either I need to lose a stone (sub 30") or start eating pound cake everyday and grow a hind side (32"+). Wish these had worked out; hoping for a revised sizing in later iterations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, comfortable, good fit I like these pants a lot. Light, packable, and comfortable. I would give them 5 stars but I would prefer they main front pockets have zippers. I understand this adds weight and bulk, but I really like secure pockets (pants do have a zip thigh pocket). Note, I have a pair of these in the regular (not Light) version as well. IN those I wear a Medium; in the Lights I had to get a Large. I have a 33 inch waist, which is right on the size break.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fabric material, but I terrible fit. I have many BD pants, and BD pant sizing is all over the place, which is weird because their jacket are almost always bang-on. I have a 32.5-33 inch waist and 40-inch hip. I fall through the crack in the sizing of this pant. I measure the waist on both medium and large. The medium has a maximum waist circumference of 32inch, and the large is 36. However, the large minimum is about 34 inch. Don't trust the size chart on this pant. On the medium hip isn't large enough, I was stretching the pant so much the pocket is pointing out. My hip disappears in the large. I contacted BD and they graciously agreed to pay for return shipping because of the misleading size chart. They mention they will look into updating the size chart. Hope BD eventually stabilize on a size chart or build something like this in a slim fit. The material is pretty amazing, it's so stretchable, breathable, and so so light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice lightweight softshell pants First fit- they are a little trim, if you're between sizes (i.e. 33) go up one. My 32's fit well, but wouldn't want them any snugger in the waist. They have great mobility, no doubt due to the four way stretch material. I like the pocket layout; I would have preferred two side zip pockets, but the one is nice sized. I like the included belt; I had been using suspenders on my previous pant which was nice, but eventually the suspenders would start digging in at the waist under the pack belt- this solves that issue. I've had these out on two spring snowshoe overnighters and the dwr finish is great at shedding moisture. They breathe well, but still do a good job of blocking wind. These don't dry as quickly as I would like, no doubt due to the amount of Lycra. While lycra is needed, cutting the % down would help with drying while still having ample stretch (my previous pant Patagonia Rock Guide had half the Lycra of these). Anyone looking for a lightweight softshell pant for shoulder season use will be very well served with these pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Summer Pant for Me Nice soft shell summer pant. Bought these to replace my Mammut Fiammia pants which are discontinued. The built in belt is meh, but this will probably become my main summer hiking pant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great warm weather pant Love the built in belt feature. Would consider them near perfect if at least on of the back pockets zipped shut. Ill buybanother oair fornsure.
