Rated 3 out of 5 by Luc from These pants are great... if you ski I bought these as a hard shell for warmer weather ice climbing. First thing I noticed when putting them on is that they were snug in the thighs for a medium (I'm a 32" waist), maybe mountain-biking has something to do with that. But the main issue I have with them is the boot cut, it's made for a large ski boot, with no way to snug them down. The integrated powder cuff had over an inch gap with my Sportiva Baturas. That with a bell bottom curve that obscured the view of most of my boot. Maybe call them Sharp Edge pants? Overall, they are very well made with plenty of ventilation, accessible pockets when wearing a harness and a fly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by HomoSapiens from Quality Pants Wanted to get some miles in these before reviewing. Size: I'm 6', 160lbs, 30" waist - got the Small -They could be an inch longer, but I've learned that's more of a style preference than a utility; I haven't had any snow enter the boots and can actually see them when kicking steps. -When skinning steeply uphill or making long strides, I do feel a slight restriction in the upper thighs. Like most that use these as designed, I have big thighs. Based on another reviewer the Medium would not have alleviated this.To curb this issue, I simply use the side zips and vent (which I'm usually doing anyways while uphilling or striding) and don't notice restriction at all. Glad to have these as part of the kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mbck22 from Great features, not very durable Loved these pants for the first month or two, fit is great, and the full length zip is perfect for touring on warmer days... but they haven't held up, maybe it's because I wear them at work. The first thing that started to go was the seem along the side zips, (currently have 4 gore Tex patches and a bunch of gorilla tape holding them together.) Then the knees and the material on the thigh pockets started ripping through. Not as waterproof as regular gore Tex, I'm always soaked through if there's a rainy day on the mountain. Probably a great pant for a weekend warrior who's using them exclusively for touring, but not for someone looking to patrol or work in them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jake from Bomber pants I have used these pants in BC heli skiing and resort skiing they worked very well, they kept me dry even though there was a lot of rain and snow, the gortex pro breaths well so you dont get damp throughout the day. The zipper sides are nice, you cab pick where your ventilation is and you still have easy access to the top of your boots for adjustments. The fit is good for me at 6'1" 200lbs, I purchased a size Large. The waist is a good size, other pants i have used have a very large waist but these were not excessive. The integrated belt works well, i didnt need to put a heavier belt on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jonathan from Outstanding Snow Pants Professional ski pants made of gore-tex with side zippers for venting. Caught in variable weather over weekend at Hunter and the rain beads on pants. Very comfortable length, with oversized belt loops. Tele knee pads fit comfortably under articulated knees. Pants have a double velcro under cuff to keep snow and wet from ski boots. Thigh pockets are very comfortable and convenient. I would highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Matthew from Best I've owend Great protection does everything expected. I stay dry and warm. The pants vent out unwanted heat and prevent sweating with the great water proof zippers on the sides. After serving 10 years in the Army and trying many different types of cold weather protection I have to say hands-down these are best and lightest I've worn. The bottom of the pants also features an adequate opening to accommodate many styles of boots which is very convenient. I am 5'7" tall and 160 pounds in the small size fits me perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lars from Not durable for heavy use I have used the Sharp End pants and Jacket as a ski coach for alpine skiers this season.(app 50 days) The pants have a number of small holes and dents, the Pro Shell material used are not very durable. Have used other BD pants for the same application before without any problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Graham from Good pants, tight crotch I bought these as a patrol and ski touring pant to replace my aging ski pants. The pocket placement and capacity is great for keeping essentials handy without adding bulk or interfering with mobility, and I especially appreciate being able to move my beacon into the dedicated pocket and free myself from my harness. The pants breath well and feel durable, especially the cuff reinforcement against ski edges. I haven't had much opportunity to test the water repellency, but they shed dry snow easily and effectively. My one gripe with the pants is that they feel tight across the front of the crotch, and when I'm ski cutting, boot packing, or making long touring strides I worry about blowing the seam. I'm tall and slim (30" waist and 33" inseam), and I purchased a medium for the length according to the size chart. I'd like to try the size small to see if an improved waist fit would resolve that little issue.
