Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where in the world is... the Fritschi ski crampon!? It's super good for hard pack sidehill touring, mandatory for spring missions or wind slab or to carry in your backpack all year. If anyone in North America has a set, let me know where they are! Love them

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not true to size 120mm does not fit over 118mm waist ski without rubbing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy but useful I've used ski crampons for years but these are my first vipec ones. They are heavy cf. other brands but easy to use. I had a few problems with icing so that the pins remain fixed. Easily rectified by scraping out the ice with something like a knife or multi-tool. I'll be interested to see how they last as I'm quite hard on ski crampons and have bent a few pairs crossing shallow, rocky areas.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings here These are super easy to get on and off and the riser is a nice to have feature on changing pitch. That said, they seem over-engineered. They’re heavy and have multiple moving parts including the plastic (no!) riser which seems destined to eventually break. No issues thus far with limited use. They work perfectly fine but just don’t seem like the best design relative to the simplicity of a Dynafit crampon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick fit Solid unit. Quite a few moving parts. Great grip. Works on Helio 116 mm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 95mm size doesn't fit all 95mm waist skis I bought the 95mm size but it's actually "90mm" according to Fritschi (the widest ski it will fit) - BD sizes them according to the actual width which is confusing. They didn't fit my Helio 95 skis.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Over-engineered These crampons work well and are easy to get on and off. That said, they are bulky and heavy compared to what's offered by Dynafit, have multiple moving pieces (the retractable mounting pins and the plastic adjustable riser - which I foresee breaking someday), and lack a natural spot to clip them to a carabiner. They're also only available in two sizes (who wants a 120mm crampon for their 100mm skis?). At the end of the day, these just seem over-engineered and a more elegant solution should have been designed with the binding. That said, they do the job fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Critical spring ski gear. Ski crampons are one of those tools that are pretty much irreplaceable. The quick attachment triggers are easy enough to use with gloves though I've had issues with snow buildup in the binding receiver holes. The flip up boot riser tab works well enough to force the crampon down on steep terrain, but a few more millimeters of depth in the high riser position would be nice. I wish they came with a small Velcro pouch that could be turned into a quickdraw crampon holster for the waist belt of my pack.
