Helio 105 Carbon Ski is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are very lightweight skis, are quick and snappy. I am very picky and these skis make me happy. Here are a few things; - Amazing powder skis. These are slightly wider than my former Prior Carbon Husume's but have a similar shape and rockers. - These are even great for freight train groomers. I'm surprised - Stiffer, very lite, and responsive. - Now BD Austrian skis. Wunderbar!! - Cool graphics and no junkie stuff. Also, I like the white tips because the snow doesn't seem to stick on the surface as much. This makes it easier to hike on these. - Note how the tip edges are continuous and no condom metal tips. - The Vipec 12 bindings and the Helio skis are a great combo. So far so good. - Nice work BD!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ski ever In the past years I have tried a lot of skis. I have switched between light BC skis and heavy duty freeride skis. Every skis I have tried so far either got poor downhill performance or are to heavy to walk with. I got 14 days on the Helio, so far i can say that this is the best ski i have tries. It can handle speed, wind packed snow, big drops, groomers as vel as 50 cm of pow. The Helio ski got the same downhill performance of a hig end 800 grams heavier freeride ski. The difference between this ski an other 1500g ski is: It does not got parkinson in hig speed! I never though a 1500 g ski ever could gives me a point and shoot confident. I am 180 cm 75 kg, and went for the 185 Helio 105. I use it with dynafit radical ft 2 binding and dynafit Khion boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burly Carbon Ski This is a light weight carbon ski that can rip at the ski area. Until riding this BD carbon construction I thought if you were on a carbon ski you could expect chatter on hard snow. I skied man made ice and the Helio 105 holds an edge really well for a ski 105 underfoot. I bought the Helio 105 for long tours but needed a ski area ski as well and could not be happier with my duel purpose set up. I put Quiver Killer inserts in for alpine and tech bindings. With the thin metal layer just under the top sheet, even the burliest telebro shouldn't have a problem with mounting screws pulling out of this ski. Awesome construction and quality!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changer!! I didn't think it was possible to love a ski more than my carbon converts!!! Yet the carbon Helio 105 is heartbreaker. The carbon converts where feather light, super responsive, skied variable conditions well, held a good edge, but the Helio does it better. This Austrian made ski just looks and feels like a higher quality product and indeed grips and rips harder than the carbon converts. I was a bit apprehensive about the 5cms extra on the ski but seems to have really payed off in stability, resposiveness, and edge holding on steep icy terrain. Overall Stoked!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feather-Weight Shed Machine Damp, stable, and stiff, these skis rip. I have them mounted with an Ion binding which makes for a very light set up that can charge hard. I originally bought these as a dedicated mountaineering rig, but they have become my go-to for all backcountry pursuits. One minor thing: the top sheet is brittle and I managed to chip it badly on the tip (see the picture). I can't tell you how it happen, just looked down and it was there. Operator error, but worth mentioning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bc @ BC I have enjoyed the helio 105 for 6 outings now. 2 days in variable terrain and some hard packed groomers, then 4 days of Backcountry outings in Whitecap BC. The conditions at Whitecap were perfect with 60cm of mostly fluffy new powder. The helio 105’s were nimble playful and flawless in the new snow. The flat profile did not do well in crusty conditions but not many rise to the occasion here...Surprisingly the skis held a good edge and carved well on the hard packed groomers. These skis definitely feel light on the ascent and overall l am super happy with the helios.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Skiing on the Helio 105 I'm not a top notch skier, but so far in the backcountry areas above Source Lake north of Alpental these skis have been excellent, yes we've had soft and deep snow so far, but still. At 195lbs and using the new F1s with new Vipecs, not having any trouble at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best versatile light skis : they do everything... I am 5.4 and weight 120lbs. I used those with the Viper 12 tech-bindings... best mix ever. I was looking for fat skies extra light so I could follows my ski bums fellas... that could do everything. I am a 75% backcountry and 25% station skier and ski a very wide spech of snow because of the conditions in Quebec : from ice to hard-pack snow, to moguls, to groomed and of course yummy powder. Those skies are the best and don't let you down even on the iciest, bumpiest kind of snow. They handled all kind of terrain I allow me to go everywhere with confidence. I travelled to Wyoming, Colorado, Québec and even north of 55th parallel with them. They are meant for hard use... On the way up, you can't even feel them, they are really light, really comfortable. I even used those while kite-skiing on the hard-frozen-Hudson bay and they were the best ! Go for it.
