The Boundary 107 is our most playful freeride ski that offers fun, easy-turning performance in soft snow. It draws on inspiration and features from our best-selling skis. Learn More

Our most playful freeride ski with a modern shape and 107-mm waist, the Black Diamond Boundary 107 ski provides fun and agile performance on pow days in-bounds or out, while still maintaining the dampness and edge hold needed for firmer conditions. Full tip and tail rocker provide maximum float and easy landings, while the poplar core and pre-preg fiberglass layup make for solid power transmission. The Boundary also features our Sidewall Dampening System, which employs a multi-density sidewall panel just behind the contact point to create an ultra-damp vibration barrier between the ski tip and the binding.

  • Versatile 107-mm waist
  • Rocker tip and tail with traditional camber underfoot
  • 3D Sandwich construction with pre-preg fiberglass, stacked sidewalls and poplar wood core
  • Sidewall Dampening System for reduced chatter in firm conditions
  • Optimal use: 60% soft snow / 40% hard snow

Boundary Ski Series Construction

Sidewall Damping System

Sidewall Damping System

To bring the dampness of a freeride ski to a lightweight backcountry construction, we employed a layer of rubber in the sidewalls of the ski, slightly behind the contact point. This innovative construction greatly reduces chatter in firmer conditions and allows us to forgo the use of metal in the layup, creating a ski that is extremely damp with drastic weight savings over traditional freeride constructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My favorite skis ever! A little too heavy. I loved these skis the instant I clicked in. They have a great freeride feel and you can do anything on them -- they don't appear to have any drawbacks except for their weight. I own these and the comparable-length Helios, and I can't stand the Helios. Thanks for ruining me, Boundaries! Ha. In all honesty, I wish there was a ski with the shape of the Boundaries and was around 7 or 7.5 pounds with no carbon. Carbon skis feel weird. If that magical ski exists, please, someone tell me. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ski I've ever ridden Been on these for a a few days now. Still coming back from a knee injury so haven't been able to push them to the max yet, but, WOW. They turn like a fighter jet, and float through the crud and chunder like it's not even there... but they EXCEL at high speeds on the groomers. I've never had a more stable ride at speed. SMOOOTH as silk. That little chunk of rubber makes a huge difference. That said, I am way more into moguls and tight trees than I am into cruising. I'm still figuring them out in the bumps. They're not the easiest bump skis ever, but I think with time they'll do very well. Can't wait to try them in the pow. My last pair was the Verdict 172, 100 underfoot, and I was planning on buying the Boundary 100, but they were out of stock. Did a bit more research, and found that despite being wider and longer (I got the 176 length Boundary 107), they have a shorter turning radius than the 100s. So glad the 100s were out of stock! Get them. Period.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun, functional, and even forgiving ski! I bought this as my short-and-quick tour, Bridger Bowl, and side-country ski. You can ski Bridger Bowl like it's backcountry or freeride terrain, so I wasn't concerned with/looking for a true resort ski. However, groomers have been fun and fine with these boards. Where I have absolutely love these skis is powder and chop. I'm more finesse than charger, and these skis make me feel so confident in variable soft conditions, and weave through tight trees with ease. They float plenty in full on powder and turn easy. I've also gone on shorter tours in powder conditions and had a blast. I am very pleased as a middle-aged and proficient skier who continues to push new terrain in the steep Northern Rockies. In this case the ski is making me better, or facilitating more fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun ski I have about 8 days on them. I do not ski very fast so I can't tell you anything about this versus the Pro model. Powder handling is delightful. Corduroy cruising presents no problems. Thumbs up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soo Good! I bought these at the end of December. I saw the reviews and skier's choice award, those helped me make my decision to buy them. WOW! They are so much fun. I've probably skied them 20-30 days now and I am having trouble finding something to complain about... O.K. My complaint is that they're kind of ugly, the color scheme and graphic aren't all that cool - That's the biggest problem with the ski that does everything, so I think BD has done a great job! I am honestly surprised that I don't see more of these skis on the mountain, but I expect that to change. I feel like I should be getting paid for how much I'm talking about them, I'm not getting paid, but when I get something that works so well, I can't help it I just want to share the love! I've had them in the shallow powder, the deep powder, groomers, the slush, the crud and everything in between. That rubber dampening thing at just behind the point of contact - I thought it was a gimmick at first, but now I am a believer. This is a great all round ski! If you're only buying one pair of skis this should be the pair, if you have 5 pairs, you should sell them all, buy the boundary 107's, then spend all that extra cash on skiing more often!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome in Lake Tahoe Bought this ski to be my workhorse, getting me around the job as a lifty at Heavenly Resort in Lake Tahoe. I am so glad I purchased this ski as it has performed wonderfully skiing everything from groomers to moguls to cliffs to feet of powder beneath towering Jefferies. Mounted with Alpine Marker Griffon bindings but have seen folks with Telies, and AT's mounted on these guys as well.
