Rated 5 out of 5 by Alex from Excellent autolocker, nice size While I rarely, if ever, forget to lock a carabiner, it is an added measure of safety not to even have to think about it. Awesome, easy to use triple-action auto-locking function, much slicker than twistlocks. This is the perfect size for most applications- you'll never need the larger Rocklock unless it is as a master biner or in some other unique function. Two minor downsides: 1) Not for winter use- I liked it so I tried, but it is prone to freezing up and is hard to operate even with light gloves; 2) Compared with a barrel lock carabiner it is slightly harder to get off your harness since the locking mechanism needs to be opened.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Matt from Well made This carabiner is smaller than it seems to be from the pictures. I think this is because the carabiners are not shown to scale next to each other. It would be cool if BD had a picture with all the carabiners they make compared to each other at the same scale. I like its size, it is very similar to the Petzl Attache. I have not used it long enough to speak to its long term durability, but it seems like it will last a long time and it makes clipping to anchors faster.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RobyC from Almost Perfect I love this carabiner, I use it for a belay carabiner for my GriGri and then as the second carabiner for using an ATC in Guide Mode. I like how light this carabiner is and how easy it is to unlock, even when the rest of my carabiners are frozen. The only thing I wish is that it was more rounded at the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dances With Trees from Vaporlocks Rock I bought one Rocklock Magnetron in excess of a year ago intending to test it out, but it got lost in my extensive inventory. In July I was heavily invested in a massive tree project, depleted my biner supply, and finally reached for the Magnetron. In comparison to my other tri-locks, which include Thrust locks, ball locks, opposing gate locks, Triacts and the like, the Magnetron's ease of use was Magnificent! Ultra smooth action, speed of deployment, conservation of energy, and frustration reduction were immediately apparent. Needing to return to the project, an 130' triple crown old growth Carolina Tulip in Portland, Oregon pruning job, I decided to replace my arboreal inventory of life safety biners with the Mags, a count of about 12. Unfortunately the biners were back ordered. I scrounged around cleaning out several store's supply online and on foot from Fresno to Portland. In my zeal I bought more than 12, now including the Vaporlock, and returned to the job. In the process of ascending, anchoring, and positioning two of us at height an average of 8 hours aloft per day, I ran out of Maglocks again. That's when I decided I was going to replace my entire life safety biner inventory (I also have a ski patrol kit (that's the black 5.5mm Bluewater Titan Dynema in the image) a high angle kit, and three mechanical advantage ascent rigs. One is on the far right, and the other is in alpha testing; the 3mm Tuefelburg Technora Tech Cord rope flecked out with the working strand suspended on the far left. Two months later I'm almost done upgrading. I have 25 Rocklocks and 15 Vaporlocks now. One more purchase of 10 Vapes should do it. I'm eagerly awaiting notification from the waiting lists I'm on that their supply has been restocked. Way to go Black Diamond! Can't wait to see what they'll come up with next.
