Rated 5 out of 5 by BW Pete from Great daily crag and gym rope Purchased this rope a couple months ago to use regularly afterwork cragging and at the gym. It climbs and belays great, and has a good catch on short sport falls. It was a little slick out of the box, but has broken in well and quickly, it's knot friendly, ties well and easy to untie even after hangdogging sessions. I work with a lot of newer climbers, and the only (-) has been that for less experienced belayers it's a little hot and slick. Using a belay glove, and/or coaching proper belay technique with ATC and braking assist devices negates this complaint. great daily use rope. When this one wears out I'll replace it with the same thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by arichy from Way too slippery On the positive side this rope has a nice feel for the climber- light, a good hand for knots, skinnier than most 9.9s. For the belayer it feeds and catches well- mostly using with a Grigri 2. It's got a middle mark and feels like it will be durable although I've only used it a few times (maybe 50 gym pitches) so hard to say about durability for sure. Those things are nice. But the lowering. With a light climber its fine, but with a heavy climber it's way too slick in the device. Almost feels like your lowering with a 6mm cord- hard to hold onto, almost getting rope burn lowering. I've been through dozens of climbing ropes and this is hands down the worst single rated rope I've used for lowering. A few other folks I've talked to say that the rope does wear in and gets easier. A few folks at BD have told me that they're changing the manufacturer to improve the lower. I hope at least one of those is true. This thing is brutal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobbo from Light and Supple I used this in the gym for about a month now. It's awesome! It has a great hand and slides through the draws with ease. Knots are easy in, easy out. I love the middle mark!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CO Climber from Works great I just wanted a short rope for our short crags and this fits the bill. Sheath is not very smooth but rope feeds and handles well. And the middle mark is still visible

Rated 4 out of 5 by Deee from Great rope! I bought this rope on sale a month ago. It likes to coil and tangle at first, but it smoothed out after a couple uses. It fits nicely in a grigri and has worked great for gym climbing so far. Also its got this gorgeous iridescent blue colour to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Aaron from Burly workhorse training rope Picked up this gym-length rope because another brand's version wore out too quickly for my taste, and frankly, because I wanted to give BD ropes a low commitment try. This rope is BURLY, and feels like it will last forever. The trade offs for ANY burly gym rope are that they're a little heavy, they have a fairly textured "hand," and there is a slight break-in period where they feel a little stiff and kink a bit. This one broke in after 3 climbing sessions, softening up and losing the kinks. Only time will tell how long this thing lasts, but all indications are that it will be very durable, and after training with this rope, your slim, smooth, slinky project rope will feel super supple and light. This rope is a good value for the price.
