Apex Gaiter is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gaiters once you get the sizing right. Needed a new pair of gaiters and heard good things about the Apex. Based on sizes of previous gaiters I've owned I originally ordered a medium. They didn't come close to fitting over my Scarpa Inverno plastic boots, and barely fit over my Sportive Trango S. Bumped it up to a large, which barely fit over my plastic boots, but just fit over my Trangos. I'm 5' 8" and wear a 9.5 boot. I'm fine with a large, but feel that a an XL would be the best fit. Besides fit, they are a burly, very well made piece of gear. I've used them mostly on ice as well as just snowshoeing. They've remained crampon-wound free and have done a great job of keeping out all snow from my boots.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fit is way too small I wear a size 44.5 La Sportiva Nepal Evo boot and ordered these gaiters sized large, as the sizing chart recommended. These fit wayyy too small over my boots! It was difficult to get them to fit sitting in my 70 degree room, so I imagine I would have serious frustration trying to put these on for an alpine start outside my tent when it is 20 or 30 degrees outside. If I exchange them for an XL, they may fit over my boot better, but then I wouldn't be able to tighten the strap enough to fit snuggly on my calf. Though these seem durable and well made, it doesn't matter if they don't fit properly. Please review these gaiters BD, as many people describe having this same issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well I like these gaiters, once u set the strap for your boot size, the are extremely quick to put on. They breath well, no sweating like I experienced with my ancient nylon gaiters, your pants/socks stay dry and clean. I have about 100 miles on these, I've noticed some wear on the inner boot side (see picture) but not bad at all for most of these miles being fall/winter hiking wearing traction. I also own the Cirque gator, I use these more in the summer, the Apex is definitely a keeper and more suited for fall/winter hiking. As far as size, I wear an 11.5 M Danner Mountain II leather hiking boot, the XL works fine for me. I also use these with my Scarpa Inverno plastic boots, the XL fits snug and also works fine, anything smaller would not work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Barely fit over boots I bought a size large, and they barely fit over XC boots. Not sure what these were designed for, but it doesn't seem to be XC skiing. Not sure they'd even fit over my hiking boots. Maybe they're for tennis shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sized well, great functionality...takes technique to get on. I'm 6', 165lb, 9.5 New Balance running shoe, 44.5 Scarpa Mont Blanc boots. The size LARGE fits me perfectly. I thought for sure that these were sized wrong but I figured it out. Having figured out how to put these on; I love the size, security, and protection. My technique: 1. Boots on appropriately (I don't need to over-tighten them). 2. Pant cuffs pulled all the way down and neat. 3. I step into the gator opened up, to line up/place the arch strap. 4. I then pull the gator up all around the top and then velcro and snap the buckle. Then I nearly close the velcro working my way down towards the snap at the bottom. 5. This keep all of the material UP towards the knee, gives the gator some shape/support as I work down and places the snap high up on the boot (above the ankle bulge). 6. Snap the snap and hook the laces...boom goes the dynamite. 7. Now that I can get them on efficiently, I've tweaked the arch strap to make it all fit nice and snug. I can't remember what size my petite wife wears (whichever the size guide recommends), ~38 Mont Blanc as well. I've even mistakenly put her's on one cold morning in the van...using the same process, I was able to them on my bigger body. She even doesn't mind putting them on and she certainly hates being cold in the morning and fussing with gear. We're both VERY happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bombproof gaiter for munchkins These are beautifully designed and solidly made. Five stars on those points, but... I wanted to love/use them to death/destruction and had to send the XL back. Too small for my 47.5 Nepal EVOs and only went 2/3 up my calf (6'2", 210lbs). Please make them grown-up sized and I'll line up to buy 'em.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Performance, Fits Small If I could, I would give these gaiters a 3.5. They function very well, but they fit frustratingly short on my calves. I purchased the XL (I am 6'0'' and 190 lbs) and they generally feel like they want to slip down, especially when I don't use more than a base layer + thinner pants. Excellent durability and waterproofing, just wish they fit higher. If you purchase these, I recommend buying a size higher than what you think you need.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Way Small I wear a size 9.5 (US-mens) boot. I first ordered the medium as that's my usual size. I had to return them because they wouldn't close - even over my light hikers, much less hiking boots. I just got the Larges and they barely close over my light hikers - won't work on anything bigger. I'll be more into return postage than I paid for them, so I guess I'll keep them for scrambling. Not sure what these are really sized for - running shoes?
