How-to Video: Fitting Black Diamond Gloves and Mitts

Absolute Mitts is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super warm I wanted the warmest ski mittens I could find. These fit the bill but are huge!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super warm, but too bulky for skiing I have very poor circulation and get numb fingers even in an airconditioned office, so skiing has always been a challenge. I was excited to try this glove given the warmth rating. The glove is undoubtedly extremely warm, but it is so bulky that holding my poles would be next to impossible! I got the Super Light mitts instead, much less bulky, and they still do the trick with an extra warmer below zero degrees!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mitt I bought these mittens because I have Raynaud's syndrome and work in the winter sampling water in negative temperatures. What I love most about these mitts is that they are two in one! Take out the inner mitten/glove and wear them for cold days; wear both for freezing cold days. The mitts are bulky but I found that taking off the outer mitten while keeping on the inserts allows you to do more intricate work. ( And you wont loose the outers because of the wrist strap) They are warm mittens. With my Raynaud's I still need to use hand warmers when sitting still for long periods of time (8+ hours deer hunting under 10 degrees). That is not the mittens fault.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Gloves These are by far the warmest gloves I have ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest mittens I’ve ever owned. I bought myself a pair of these mittens about a month ago and love them so much I bought a pair for my son. We are both ski patrollers and find ourselves skiing in some of the coldest conditions here in Michigan. This year I’m looking forward to whatever Mother Nature has to offer so I can pull them out some more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have finally found the WARMEST glove!! I bought these gloves about 2 months ago to use on the very coldest days. I am a ski instructor and have to teach even in the coldest temps and all day long - no wimping out allowed. I have bought many gloves and mitts over the years in a futile attempt to find something to keep me comfortable in sub zero temps. The Absolute Mitt is the one I have been searching for. On 5-10 degree days they are almost a little too warm but I have other gloves for that temp range. I wore the Absolutes this morning on a zero degree (Fahrenheit) day with a wind chill of about minus 20 degrees and my hands were comfortable with not even a hint of being cold. One reviewer complained about his wife not being able to grip a ski pole, but while gloves provide a better grip, I have no problem gripping my poles (I never use the strap and I never use the strapless poles that have a small opening for gloves). Also, not sure why people don't like the separated index finger lining - I think it adds grip and as I have mentioned, the gloves don't have any problem keeping fingers warm. If the gloves hold up well over the years, I will have to crown them "the greatest thing since sliced bread" :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Good As It Gets! Nothing warmer--these were my go-to for cold, windy days when gloves just wouldn't cut it. Outer material was strong enough to stand up to rope work and snow abrasion.
