Rated 5 out of 5 by Icenine from Burly and Warm Glove I use the Guide Gloves for mountaineering and belaying during ice climbing and they are by far the warmest and most burly glove I have found. What I like most is the warmth and leather which stands up to the abuse of rappelling. My first pair of Guide Gloves is still in good condition but the leather wore through after about 100 rappels so I bought a second pair. Some people complain about the gloves not being warm. The issue is that you need to take a little time to break in the gloves. After the break in period you will have a warm glove that has good dexterity. If you do serious mountaineering and ice climbing this is the glove for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mack from Gore-Tex I bought these mainly for the over-glove, figuring I would wear them with my own fleece liner. But I didn't read the glove description nearly carefully enough & only realized today that the Gore-Tex is not part of the over-glove, but only of the liner. So if you want to wear just the over-glove--expect to get wet!
