Rated 5 out of 5 by Ireyeyes from So far, their great. I've got three day trips in the backcountry with these, plus a three-day backcountry ski trip. So far they are just what I was looking for. Durable, warm, and dexterous enough for transitions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gloves from Still get cold hands. This Is my second pair of black diamond gloves, Neither one has been able to keep my hands warm. I went to the mitten which is supposed to be rated to -25°, but still need to use handwarmers to keep my hands warm. Very disappointing for a pair of gloves that sell for $169.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jackie from Great, but ... came apart The gloves are really good. Fit really well and extremely warm. Unfortunately on the third day out the threading on one of the index fingers came undone. And more frustrating couldn't just exchange for another pair had to return and the sale price was no longer available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by G Schlag from Great for winter camping! I purchased this mitt to use while leading a 10 day winter camping expedition with students. The mitts were the warmest I've ever worn, and kept all of my fingers warm the entire time. The separated finger was useful when tying knots and operating stoves in snowy and blustery, cold conditions. I removed the liners to dig snow shelters in just the shells and they dried extremely well overnight under my sleeping pad. I didn't expect to appreciate the over-sleeve cuff, but it was a great feature for sealing warmth in while taking the gloves on and off for various camp tasks which required more dexterity. Thanks BD!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tony from Something changed I bought a pair of these gloves a couple years ago and they were the warmest trigger mitts (and hand protection in general) I have ever worn. Being outside in -30F (not including windchill) for an hour+ while hiking or sitting still. I never even felt the cold penetrate the mitt. My hands were warm no matter what the temp was. I am not a cold person and don't struggle with cold extremities under normal conditions. A couple weeks ago i purchased a second pair because I loved the first so much. I will second the opinion of a couple previous reviewers. These gloves do not appear to have the same quality or warmth my old pair has. I used these today in -17F while walking my dog and scraping my windshield (hardly mountaineering or winter camping) and my fingers were painfully cold. I was outside for 30 minutes tops. I was quite disappointed the new mitts were no where near the old pair. Unfortunately I think I will be looking elsewhere for deep cold hand protection. The old trigger mitt was an easy 5 stars. These new ones are not. They are still nice gloves and warm, but not made for real cold. I don't think I would trust these on a winter camp and anything else where I could not easily get out of the elements. Won't wear these if it colder than -5F.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jason33 from Glove is not waterproof at all Really loved the glove. They were warm and the design is great but they soaked through after a few hours of skiing. Applied two applications of Nikwax as well. It’s too bad. I have contacted Black Diamond to see what they can do. I am hoping I just got a defective glove bc I really liked them. Would give them another chance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Edsel from Functional and warm I purchased these finger gloves (we call them lobster mitts) 2 months ago and have used them at least 4 times a week. Had them in -35 C and they still kept my hands warm (as long as I was moving). Great for keeping the snow out when falling in deep, easy to put on and take off, and still functional when on. I can easily adjust boots, bindings, pack, zippers, etc. with these on. I also wear the in temps as high as -5 C and they are still comfortable and easy to thermoregulate. These should be a part of everyone's kit for on, and off, piste.
