Rated 5 out of 5 by Albert Bowman from Worth it. Some hardcore long distance sites recommend removing these from the poles. And if I'm exhausted and using the trekking poles for a shelter pole, and have to remove them before setting up the tent; then yes, keep them off of the poles. But for hardcore day hiking, or when hiking with a shelter that has its own poles, then keep these on the poles. First, they are beautiful. Second, they keep the poles from sinking into muck or soft dirt: one doesn't have to hold back arm muscles, constantly inspecting the ground. And third, they protect the bottom of the carbon fiber shaft from horizontally striking against rocks, as well as keep the poles out of just-small-enough rock crevices. Unconsciously protecting the poles from rock strikes takes some fundamental energy; so screw these on, and for hardcore multi-hour hikes, save your energy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by bkurtz4 from Treking Pole Spare Baskets After losing a basket of a pole, and not being able to find spares to purchase at a retail outlet, we contacted the company. They happily sent us a couple baskets for a $12.50 charge. I placed the new baskets on the poles and after the 1st day of my backpacking venture one of the baskets had fallen off. I know they were secured and on tight, my wife double checked them. I guess we'll just use the poles without baskets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by peter from Trekking pole spare baskets I have a pair of carbon light weight FLZ distance poles which I bought last year. I needed some larger baskets and thought that the Treddking pole spare baskets would fit but of course they don't. I now that Leki baskets are interchangeable and wish I had bought their Warrior light weight poles. Peter T.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dafohs from Replaced tips, so might as well replace baskets One of my tips broke and the other worn down. I decided to replace the baskets as well. Good for hiking and keeping out of cracks. They work OK for snow shoeing, but I'd prefer a bigger basket.
