DescriptionOur most popular headlamp for everything from pre-work dawn patrols to late-night rappels after a long day, the Black Diamond Spot Headlamp now features 200 lumens of power in a waterproof package. Featuring PowerTap Technology, easy on-the-fly brightness adjustments are literally at the tip of your fingers. With a handy lock mode, the Spot is safe from accidental battery drain while in your pack or pocket.
- One TriplePower LED, one SinglePower white LED and one SinglePower red LED emits 200 lumens (max setting)
- PowerTap Technology allows fast and simple transitioning between full and dimmed power in order to instantly increase illumination in distance or proximity modes
- Red night-vision mode has proximity and strobe settings, and activates without cycling through the white mode
- Sleek, low profile design uses three AAA batteries and three-level power meter shows remaining battery life for three seconds after switching on headlamp
- Settings include: full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red night vision and lock mode
- IPX8: Waterproof—Tested to operate up to 1.1 meters underwater for 30 minutes. If submerged, water may enter the battery compartment and it will still operate, and it should be dried out completely afterwards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JunJ from Works and performs as advertised! I got this headlamp as a freebie when I purchased a set of trekking poles. Contrary to most reviews, I didn't have any problems operating the modes of this headlamp. The reason I think is that I watched the video instead of reading the manual, making it easier to understand the functions. 200 lumens is more than enough brightness for my camping trips and any emergency I might have while traveling. Not sure if I even want to upgrade to the newer 300-lumen model since I prefer that the batteries last longer. This headlamp goes with me in all my trips, not only because it's reliable, but also because it's pretty light at only 80 grams.

Rated 3 out of 5 by gadgetmanmike from too complicated but good light Boy, the sequence of buttons, double presses etc etc on this thing is mind boggling. hope it has a manual .

Rated 1 out of 5 by Andrew from Too complicated, turns on in your bag The operating controls are confusing, inevitably I don’t lock it properly. The on button is so easily compressed that if not locked it will absolutely end up getting turned on in your bag - coupled with the short battery life, one locking error will kill your battery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dnunn from red light? I have an older model, and like many other reviewers, am frustrated by the instructions. The video is great in describing the variable brightness and tap features--and they are very good features. But how do you switch to the red light? As is, I rate it a 3. There are plenty white headlamps out there, at 1/2 the price. If I could figure out the red light switch--and remember it--I'd give it 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GDTURN from PRICE DEAL! BRIGHTNESS!!!! GREAT DEAL FOR THE PRICE. NOT SURE HOW THIS IS GOING TO STAY WATERPROOF? OLD SPOT DESIGN WAS NOT WATERPROOF AND GAVE PROBLEMS IN THE RAINFOREST AND HIGH ALTITUDE CLOUD SYSTEMS. BETTER OPTION FOR BATTERY SAVING WOULD BE THE REVOLT. MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE LOCKING MECHANISM AS THE OLD AND NEW LAMPS TURN ON RANDOMLY WHEN STORED IN YOUR PACK! BUMMER.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kevin C from Well, used it 2 months, now doesn't work Bought this on Amazon, struggled to get it to work the first time...thought the batteries were the issue. Used it a couple of times but then it sat for a month. Went to go use it again, thought the batteries were dead, replaced the batteries...nothing...ok, found another set of batteries...nothing. I'm guessing this crapped out as there isn't any other excuse. Don't recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by climbingLlama from Good things come in small Packages Got this as gift from BD. Did not have much expectations, but from the time I used it first it has become my goto Headlamp for the crags. The modes are a bit complicated, but once learned it works like a charm. Love the power tap and 4 second switch feature between Red and White light. The Red one comes in handy also to read in the night.
