1989 was the year I first saw climbing. It was love at first sight; like a revelation! I started climbing in 1990. Climbing had a life of its own, it had its own scent, it made me feel alive. One day I dreamt of climbing grade six, owning my own rope, winning the World Cup and climbing around the world for the rest of my life. And now that dream is becoming real. And all this thanks to the fact that in 1989 on a certain day at a certain time I have to see climbing on a tv channel. I love climbing!
