Rated 5 de 5 de Kamel603 par Bombproof I bought mine when it was Bibler. Coming on 18 yrs. Never an issue, never a fault, spacious, easy to set up. Mine is the original 1 door version. If BD has kept the same quality standards, you will not regret purchase. If you're going with 2 people, bring dual vestibules. Completely worth the extra weight.

Rated 5 de 5 de andygo par I have two of these. In 1992 or 3 I bought my first one. It was then a Bibler before Black Diamond bought that business. Probably have slept in it at least 150 or 200 times now (2019) and it''s a bit heavier and bulkier than some of the more recently developed similar tents (one of which I purchased from BD a few years ago and have now used five or six times), but the Ahwanee remains the most comfortable day-after-day, set-up, take-down, all-weather, any-situation, live-in tent I've ever used. (If I have the space to carry it I usually take it over the newer smaller lighter BD model.) Several acquaintances have bought them on my recommendation and been similarly satisfied. I carelessly broke a pole once in the middle of a stormy night in Mongolia (!) rushing to set it up, but was able to jerry-rig the repair. A replacement pole section and proper repair was later made, and now I carry a spare pole section. A couple of the main and mesh zipper sliders have been also replaced due to wear. There are a two small glued-on fabric patches, too. About ten or fifteen years ago I started worrying this brilliant product would become unavailable so I bought another one, just in case. Has not been needed yet, and now I'm old and wonder if it ever will be?

Rated 5 de 5 de WestBeach par Tough, light and dependable Bought this tent in 1998 and it is still going strong. I use it for Alaskan winter mountaineering/snowboarding, float trips, general hiking/camping trips and hunting, All here in Alaska. I've used it in all 4 seasons in every weather condition. It has never failed me and has always kept me dry and cozy. When on the mountain top, this tent is the one everyone kicks back in with the door open, enjoying the views of the landscape and sunsets. Took me a few practice runs in the beginning to get used to setting it up efficiently, but it is simple enough that once you get the "procedure" dialed in, it is very quick and easy to set up and disassemble (kind of the down side because everyone is usually halfway into setting up/taking down their tents and you get stuck helping everyone else set up tents because your tent is done, haha). I have been confidently using this tent for so long in so many different conditions, my piece of mind is so high, that it is one thing that I know is "good to go" when packing up for the middle of nowhere (for those that often depend on their gear, that alone is HUGE!). It's like a super reliable comfort blanket. Fits me and my gear comfortably, add another person and it gets pretty crowded. I consider it a "one person" with room for another if necessary. I rarely pack and use the door fly, unless I know someone else is going to be in the tent, then the fly acts as a dry storage garage for loose gear in possibilities of rainy weather. Highly recommend this tent.

Rated 5 de 5 de profoundly_disturbed par Superb tent, some items could do with updating. I've owned this tent for six years, the cost would have put me off if a mate hadn't lent me his first. I've never regretted buying it and it's never let me down in any situation. Three of my mates now have the same tent. Black Diamond could improve it further by replacing the fiddly pole clips, even Velcro strips would be better and the way the awning attaches isn't easy. They must have the ability, after all, they designed this teriffic tent in the first place! Other than that, I can't think of a bad thing to say, other than I hate doing the seam sealing myself (just lazy).

Rated 4 de 5 de BFed par Good tent difficult setup I bought this tent for mountaineering and it holds up very well under severe weather. It has lots of room for two people and gear. One of the best features is the two doors, which allows for excellent ventilation. The setup requires practice and is difficult to master. Practice setting this up before going on a trip.

Rated 5 de 5 de Dave and Jane par Best & favorite tent ever We've backpacked in the High Sierras every summer for 50 years, and used to add a zipper to our tent to see the stars. Then we found the Bibler version of this. When it wore out we got a green Ahwahnee and now have two for family expeditions. They are the best ever -- really sturdy and weatherproof but still light, best-ever open visibility, Once done once or twice, easy & quick to pitch, no rainfly needed, and doesn't depend on its stakes for stability only for wind-anchors.

Rated 5 de 5 de AkRiverGuy par Beyond awesome... I operate a wilderness river guide service here in Alaska and for the past 8-10 summers my Ahwahnee has sheltered me from everything that Alaska has to offer. I almost enjoy setting up in the rain because I KNOW the interior of my tent will be dry when I crawl in at the end of an 18 hour work day, and it will stay that way no matter what kind of gnarly weather comes my way. This tent is bullet proof. One of the most important features is the incredible cross flow venting that can be achieved; condensation is never a factor, as it is with most single wall tents. The Bibler Toddtex fabric is bomber strong and durable, yet breathable. A bear could not get through it (kidding). I find the tent to be easy to put up quickly in a downpour, although it takes finesse and accuracy that a neophyte might not have. It is possible to be hasty and damage the tent, but that would be totally operator error. When those interior pole ties have been set, the result is a drum tight tent that will withstand any weather conditions. My only complaint it that the vestibule is an afterthought and it adds unduly to the set up time. After so many seasons of faithful use (by far outlasting any tent I've used on the river) this season I am replacing my old bright green Ahwahnee with a...new yellow one. For my purposes, this is by FAR the best tent on the market.

Rated 5 de 5 de Garrett par Great Tent / Great Service at Black Diamond I love my Ahwahnee. We use this tent often on exposed ridges with high winds, super strong and lot's of room for two people and gear. In good weather, we have both doors open for enjoying the stars. I own tents by MSR, Hilleberg and Mountain Hardware.....the Ahwahnee is my favorite go to tent unless it's snowing....only because the vestibule is a little finicky. Set up just means following the directions......put the awning cross pole in first. I didn't and tore a small place. Owned this tent for 5+ years and BD repaired it at no charge. Kudos to Mike Elggren and Black Diamond. That's why my axes, crampons and harnesses are BD....these guys rock.
