Describe your climbing background:
Tommy Caldwell’s dad got me started climbing
in 6th grade. He was my gym teacher.
Was there a big breakthrough or defining moment for
you?
When I turned 16 I got a car and could go on road trips.
Describe a memorable climbing experience:
All of my climbing moments are memorable. I’m
always with friends and having fun. Every day is
perfect.
What are you up to when you’re
not climbing?
Meeting girls
Any training advice or suggestions?
Ask your self if you’re having fun, if not you’re
doing something wrong.
Who or what inspires you?
My friends and people that try hard
What do you think about the 5.15 grade?
I used to chase numbers. Now for the most part it is about fun and 5.15 seems
like a lot of work.
Any near death experiences?
I keep a box in my room filled with things that have almost killed me. It’s
getting pretty big.
Are you a fan of climbing history? Explain?
History is one of the most important parts of climbing. To evolve we need to
know where we have been.
What are your future plans or goals in climbing?
Keep climbing, keep having fun and making sure my friends are having fun.
