Questions
What
was your big breakthrough or defining moment in
skiing?
Oddly enough my biggest break through experience, which
has made me a better skier, occurred in a kayak when
I survived a descent down the Stikine River. Mentally
this achievement has made me a better skier in difficult
situations.
Describe a skiing experience when things got out of
hand:
My most nerve-racking experience skiing was the two
weeks we spent in Haines, AK in 2002 when the avalanche
danger was at an all time high. We had ten hours of
heli time to burn and we did not take a single run
where one of the athletes we did not trigger a slab.
My brother Zach had a near miss on a run we later called
Daisy Cutter that produced the sickest head cam shot
of blocks breaking around him. Fortunately, he slammed
on the breaks. We also had to dig out one of our cinematographers,
Dustin Lingren in 20 feet of debris. Fortunately his
snorkel lips were barely on the surface. It was the
first time in my life where I wished we were out of
heli time.
What are you up to when you are not skiing?
Kayaking or surfing.
Any training advice or suggestions?

Sky's the limit.
Do you think the best skiers today are better than
the best skiers twenty years ago?
No

Ever been caught speeding or ever been arrested?
Just got a letter in the mail from the Idaho Department
of Transportation warning me that if I get another

my license. Wish me luck!!
Any tattoos or body piercings?
