Speed 40 Pack wurde bewertet mit 4.6 von 5 von 23.
Rated 5 von 5 von aus Older model with load lifter straps is great I've had the older model version of this pack for 4 years now and I really like it. Very comfortable, versatile, and light. I've used it for hiking, bushwacking, and skiing. I'm not much of a climber but I guess it would work well for that also. Big mistake to remove the load lifter straps on the newer model, I hope they bring them back. Glad I have the older model, it has proven to be durable so I think i'll be using it for a long time.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus This is a great pack for year round mountain use There are a lot of great mountain packs out there and this is one of them First its a very versatile size, remove the lid and you have about a 36 liter pack, the perfect size for a big day out, with the lid and extra collar you can expand this pack into the 50 liter range, enough for a 2-3 day trip. There are tons of options to attach gear to the outside, it is simple to add and ice axe, crampon and rope, pickets can sort of fit within the ice axe attachment system but its a little less intuitive. The compression buckles on each side easily let you a-frame skis, secure a rope, or compress the pack. One simple improvement BD should make is swapping the female/make buckle orientation on one side of the compression straps, this would let you buckle them to their opposite side counterpart to do something like carry a vertical foam pad on the center back of the pack. Carrying a rolled foam pad with traditional side straps interferes with your arms. I got this pack in the dark gray color thinking it would be less obtrusive. The only downside is the dark interior of the pack makes it harder to locate gear. Remember lighter color fabrics will reflect more light. A possible reason to select the lighter color pack. The pack carries really well, it's a fairly narrow tube shape and the M/L fits my 6'4" frame well. The padding on the hips and shoulders is thin but just about perfect. The back panel is pretty straightforward with no mesh to catch snow but it can get hot against the back. I also wish the gear loops were larger, You can only clip 3ish carabiners/cams/slings per side. The fabric the pack is constructed with is very lightweight so it cant take a massive beating. I find that with a little intention its easy to take care of. Overall I am really happy with this pack, it is simple and incredibly versatile. If you are looking for one great pack I would recommend the speed 40. I'll be using mine for climbing, backpacking, ski touring and more.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus great fit! This pack is a great fitting pack. Streamline is why I like it and it's able to compress tightly for a smaller volume or pack it out and carry more gear.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Killer pack on plant based diet My first thoughts about this backpack were: ''wow that's light!'' I have been little worried about comfort of carrying heavier loads while ice climbing or ski touring compared to my old strong and durable BD Outlaw 32. Well I haven't noticed it. What I did notice however was I feel lighter. And it was noticable even when it was full of ice climbing gear. My second worry was durability. Well of course I can't demand from it to be as durable as way heavier pack. Or could I? Only what I can say for now is I am using it for 6 months already and if I am not on expedition, I have my notebook in and it is my daypack. It is so light. It don't have any marks of wear and tear. I love fit and adjustibility. It have wery well designed back. It is streamlined. I thought first I need many of pockets. Now I know I don't. They are just adding weight and option for zipper or inerface failure to that pack. Price is awesome. If I would rip this pack withing next year, it is still great value for given amount of money. Great job guys.

Rated 3 von 5 von aus All the right features. The carry is a bit odd. The design is great; lightweight and minimalist, yet all the capabilities that one wants in a climbing pack. Two drawbacks that keep it from being a "go to" pack (for me): - The pack "carries" oddly if the body of the bag is not full of stuff; hard to describe... the top pocket flops completely over and away from the frame-sheet even when cinched down tightly. This could be "resolved" by removing the top pocket and stuffing it into the body of the bag, but that creates its own issues. - The width of the shoulder straps is not adjustable; they cannot be moved closer together as can be done on several other packs I own. I'm... "lithe"... of build. So the pack tends to flop from side-to-side even when carry straps are adjusted - which has unnervingly compromised balance in more than a few situations. Never had that happen with any other pack regardless of precision of fit. Climbers of bulkier build might not experience similar problem. Again... all the required features in minimalist implementation. And when the bag is full and balance isn't a concern (fit is precise?), it's great. But... the bag does have it's own personality. Maybe best to try before buying?

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Light and versatile at a great pricepoint I've owned by Speed 40 for a couple years, but I just used it for a new route in a hot climate and then Pinnacle Gully in NH for ice and my attaboy for BD is long overdue. The expandability of the pack is deceiving, for example if you throw the rope in your pack, and at the same time it can tighten down for super manueverability. I've never banked on the durability of these light packs, but this pack is still kicking and the waterproofing has held up. The waist belt came up over my ice clips and never got stuck, and it's always been a great crag pack for trad days when you just might climb with it. Maybe the stabilizer straps are gone now, too bad, but I never really used them. Oh, I'm 5'9" and kind of broad shouldered and I ordered the S/M and the straps are fully maxed when I'm in winter gear. Probably could go with the M/L next time. Thanks BD.

Rated 3 von 5 von aus Disappointing, old model was better My old speed pack was great. Very comfortable until 12 kg load, excellent weight transfer to the hips and close to the body. To my disappointment the new model does not have the top stabilisation straps / load lifters that are essential for me to keep the backpack close enough to my body and lift the weight from my shoulders.
