Rated 2 out of 5 by Blue Sky 1 from Flicklocks As a skier that does occasional backcountry I wanted to buy one set of poles to use for in-bounds and backcountry. The Expedition 2 Ski Pole looked like it would work perfectly for that scenario. I have been disappointed with the Flicklock system as they slip and can't hold the setting that I have them adjusted for. An example would be if you are waiting at Blue Sky Basin and putting pressure on your pole in the lift line often enough they slip. It is frustrating to have to constantly readjust them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kazz from Great Fit The poles are well made . Grips feel good to the hand . They sturdy and did not flex under my 2oo lbs. Used them alpine skiing at Loveland and took them out back country touring . Highly recommended .

Rated 5 out of 5 by poorskiergreatpoles from Huge upgrade over my last set of poles The gear far exceeds my skiing ability. I had 4 successful turns with them before I took a hard fall and slightly bent the handle on the left one. They are still fully functional, but man that hurt to damage a brand new set of poles after such little use. That fall would have snapped any of my older poles in half, but these held up great despite the abuse on my end, and they will continue to be my every day set for years to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Freeheeler from Love the poles, but the baskets.... I love these poles. The adjustable straps are awesome; however I lost both baskets on the first day. I screwed them on super tight, but after just half a day they were both gone:(

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rockon from As expected They always come to you for these reviews 2 or 3 weeks after you buy the thing. Really not enough time to give a proper review, but they are as expected. I have used them twice CC/Backcountry skiing on flat to very moderately rolling terrain and they seem reasonably light and strong. The flicklock is holding up as expected, but who can really say after 2 uses. I have had no problems with the baskets coming loose/off.....follow BD's directions for mounting. The wrist straps seem comfortable with the reasonable ability to adjust the loop size with gloves on. I am giving them four stars because I have not owned/used them long enough to give five. A couple of basically non-important things are the pole colors. I am not crazy about the gray/black.....white/black would have been a better choice The "instruction manual" that comes with them is a bit absurd, a primer in hieroglyphics would be helpful. The "manual" is about the size of a poster once you unfold it and hurts your eyes to look at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mars from Works great! I’ve used these a couple times this winter and they’ve worked great! Decently stiff, the adjustment feature is simple, reliable, and stays out of the way. A nice packable, adjustable, lightweight, and versatile ski pole for just about anything you need them for. I like how easily the baskets are exchanged, seems that they’ll work fine as trekking poles come summer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by skibunny from Great touring/ hiking poles The handles and straps feel great without gloves, but on cold days the grip will freeze up if the material comes in contact with snow but on those days you're wearing gloves so it doesn't make much of a difference since my gloves grip the ice just fine. I had no issues with the fliplocks while skiing, but the lock mechanism sometimes doesn't hold well when I push on my pole to release my tech bindings after they iced up from snow while skiing. Overall, they're great poles!
