Rated 5 out of 5 by owen from Scraps make great thimbles Great for skinning - they are flawless - but what do you do with the scraps of your skins? They make great thimbles for your knitting projects. (Black Diamond Ascension Nylon STS Climbing Skins)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tomb from Great glide and grip I have used the Ascension STS skins for several winters, logging 90+ days on the skins. They are trouble free and offer superior glide. It is my go to skin.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ski Patrol M from A bit disappointed My skins arrived days before I needed them for my next trip. Unfortunately, they looked defective with some thin areas. i didn't have time to return and get new ones as I was leaving for Tuckerman's Ravine. After 3 days of skinning they really have not held up well. This is my first disappointing product from BD

Rated 4 out of 5 by Will from Workhorse skins, good price, careful with screws I bought these for a set of skis I won't tour much with so I was shopping primarily by price. They are lighter and more foldable than an older set of these I have. They're nylon and nylon =slow. Great grip though. Be careful with the screws when attaching the tip loop. Poking a push pin or similar item through before starting the screw will reduce your risk of stripping or breaking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wolfcreekbc from Very happy with these so far Returned to the BD Ascension brand after using and trying some others. Very satisfied with my choice. I know, not the lightest, but I use them a lot and durability is important to me. I've got about 50-60 days on them this winter. Maintain their stickiness during multiple laps. Dry out pretty quickly and even glide better than expected. Haven't used them on an icy spring upski yet, but ski crampons can help with that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mark from Great grip on steep hard pack I use these to climb the steep hard pack at my local resort. They have great grip (minimal back slide). Very happy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Maf1111 from They used to be good. I have three different pairs of BD skins that I successfully set up. I bought the newest version for my wife this year and the screws all broke or stripped before they were even half way through. That is trash. Before there were extra screws. This time I received one extra screw. This company has been progressing in the wrong direction.
