A revolutionary helmet that's ideal for long routes, alpine climbs and other weight-sensitive missions, the Black Diamond Vector Helmet combines lightweight protection, excellent ventilation and "barely-there" comfort like never before. The geometric, co-molded EPS foam and polycarbonate shell provide full-coverage protection while remaining incredibly lightweight and comfortable, and the generous ventilation ports keep air flowing on warm days. The ratcheting suspension tucks away for easy storage in your pack, and when the sun gets down before you do, the Vector's in-mold headlamp clips provide an ultra-secure attachment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Touring Helmet I used to just wear a baseball cap while touring since my helmet was too heavy and warm. Now I bring a helmet every time because this one is so light I barely notice it on my pack or on my head. I find it very comfortable while wearing a buff and a baseball cap underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my noggin An essential piece of equipment that delivers on performance & safety. On my first ice climb out with the vector my buddy knocked a solid piece of ice that came tumbling down the falls, it bounced right off the vector while I was belaying & I can guarantee that there would’ve been some serious damage to my cranium had I not been wearing a helmet. I’m super grateful that BD has given us access to high quality safety equipment that gives us the opportunity to explore the world safely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fitting helmet out there I've had this helmet for a couple of years now (just ordered a new one). As an avid climber and a guide and search and rescue technician, I've put it through the ringer. Often, it ends up on my students, as it fits much better than their own helmet - no dreaded "helmet bonnet" with the vector. I spent more than a decade of not wearing a helmet because they were uncomfortable. I now wear my Black Diamond Vector for EVERYTHING. I don't notice it while I'm wearing it, so why not? I even wore it bouldering this fall while recovering from a concussion. The only (very slight) issue I've noticed is that it dents pretty easily, so I try to carry it in my pack or under my pack lid. If you're on the fence, buy it; you won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight, and great coverage. I’ve been using this helmet for a few years now, I think it’s the best climbing lid on the market. You forget you’re wearing it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizing clips are annoying This is a comfortable, light-weight, helmet with one problem...if you like to store your slings over your shoulder when you lead, they invariably get caught on the little size adjustment clips on the back of the helmet when you try to remove them. On an easy climb it's annoying, on a difficult one, downright terrifying. Sadly, I've actually gone back to an old helmet for climbing and am using this for other things.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Helmet I've Worn I recently purchase my second Vector helmet because I loved the first one so much. I wore it for four years and it was undoubtedly the most comfortable helmet I've worn. I wore it for everything from backcountry skiing to mountaineering to trad and sport climbing. Durability could be a bit of an issue and you have to be careful not to crush it by sitting on it or something, but any lightweight helmet these days will have the same issues.
