"Bought as a replacement for my main SAR headlamp. This will do great for cave work and late night mountain missions!"
"I “upgraded” from an icon 500 and the new icon 700 is worse in every way The user interface is garbage and the buttons are laggy good luck trying to get the perfect dimming effect the old one didn't have any lag and was one easy button The new interface is honestly a nightmare a double click makes whatever mode you’re in start flashing it is the least useful feature and the easiest to access It has a stupid “button” on the side you don't actually click it detects your finger and puts the light on max brightness even if you aren’t touching it it goes max brightness The new battery meter is only usable if you take it off your head and look at it the old one was visible while using it The headband slips out of the clips and falls off your head one of of three times putting it on The rechargeable battery has an ill fitting rubber gasket and it has a mini usb port I now have to carry a special cable just for this light it is technically brighter but the beam only goes half as far but it lights up a wide area The plastic feels cheap and I very much doubt the battery pack is waterproof I’m not willing to test it it might handle rain but no way it works after being submerged"
"I finally decided to get a new main headlamp as I've been rocking the same headlamp for 15 years. Immediate difference, so much more light and most importantly, a medium setting that is bright enough but not so bright than I would need to charge the headlamp repeatedly. My favourite feature and the reason I got this was because it's apparently one of the few headlamps that still support batteries. I find lithium AA batteries last very long in cold environments. So I can keep the AA's as backup if the rechargeable pack runs out of power, it brings comfort when I may be out in the bush for a longer period. And a few AA's don't weigh much. My only gripe would be if it could be easier to switch between the rechargeable pack and the battery pack. Bit of an annoyance to swap in the field especially with having to undo and reattach the power cable and then try and squeeze the straps into the slots of the power pack with cold hands."
"The lite went on at first now it doesn’t work change battery still doesn’t work."
"I had been using the smaller headlamps with AAA batteries for years and struggled with enough light to really back country ski at night. This is a huge upgrade with the bigger batteries. 700 lumens is on the low end of a car headlight and thats what its like when using. It does allow me to ski with more confidence at night which is primarily what I use it for."
"Great light. Love it. I've gone through two of these. Never again. Same problem each time. There's a major design flaw: The battery cover locks into place with a latch to the battery housing. Unfortunately, the plastic housing it secures to is far too thin and brittle, and will absolutely snap in the cold. Then the cover pops off and so does the juice to the lamp. No longer waterproof rated after this. I have to use elastic bands to hold it together. Your best bet is the rechargeable battery accessory but that's another cost add-on that should have been standard from the get go. The new 1500 seems to address this."
"A very versatile bright light with two different battery options makes this a winner no matter the scenario."
"Love the Power and versatility of this headlamp Perfect for winter tour approach"
"Use for hunting, camping, and bike riding"
"I had one for years, lost it☹️ just got the replacement! These things rock. I make snow for a living so it gets pushed through subzero conditions, wet (I mean wet) conditions, and extremely rugged conditions."
