Applied to the backside of this fabric is a third layer, jersey backer, that feels comfortable next to the skin and allows moisture to turn to vapor before passing through the hydrophilic membrane. "Great snowboard jacket! Great for layering on cold days and going light when trecking up a mountain. Love the high chin hood section to block wind and snow from face on cold days. Highly recommend. Im 6'1, 175 and the large fits perfect. Black diamond is the shitnits!"

The sizing and fit of the jacket is consistent with other brands and at 5’10” 190 lbs the L fits me perfect. DB Dry seems legit and passed my “couple full cups of water” test! "I primarily have used this jacket as an emergency shell for backcountry skiing. I also used it quite a few times for alpine resort skiing. It's a really good weight to add to your pack when you don't know if you'll hit inclement conditions. It's light enough to pack away, but heavy enough that it offers some actual protection, unlike a lot of more ultralight shells. I've been a big fan of BD. Dry membranes for a long time. I think the material does a good job of mixing weatherproofing, breathability, mobility and reasonable cost. This jacket is a great use of the material."
