Whether you’re in the Valley making a free bid on the Captain, or pounding out pitch after pitch at the Creek, the Solution Guide is purpose built for trad climbing. By utilizing an ultra-durable construction consisting of Super Fabric - an abrasion resistant fabric that’s infused with tiny guard plates—the Solution Guide can withstand day after day of rugged use. The durability is matched with uncompromised comfort, which is a result of a contoured fit and our Fusion Comfort Technology, which introduces three separate strands of low-profile webbing in both the fixed leg loops and waist to create superior load distribution while reducing pressure on sensitive points. With four pressure molded gear loops and a fifth gear loop for your extra kit, the Solution Guide is the ultimate trad climbing workhorse.

Fusion Comfort Construction

Fusion Comfort Construction™

Intent on building a harness that would move with the body it protects, we designed a triple-weave webbing on the interior of the harness’s waistbelt that provides movement-focused technology while maintaining superior breathability, durability and strength. Also featured on the harness’s leg loops, this technology offers excellent load sharing, relieving pressure from sensitive points of contact.

Solution Guide Harness - Men's is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Great confort but small gear loop for a trad harness
Date published: 2020-09-03
Rated 3 out of 5 by from displaced durability Oddly the top tie-in-point is much thinner and softer than the lower point. The leg loops are great but it ineffective if the tie in loop wears out first. Additionally, the haul loop still feels very fragile, considering the add video even shows somebody climbing a chimney.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Planned Obsolescence While the construction of this harness is sufficient in most places, the tie-in points are thinner than any other harness manufactured by BD. Couple that with tie-in stitching that is exposed to rope abrasion, and you have a very burly harness that will wear out at the tie-in points before anything else has a scratch on it. Also, the gear loops are sewn into the underside of the waistbelt, creating four hard pressure points on each hip. Great design, poor construction and attention to detail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Solid! Overall this is an excellent upgrade from my harness that was almost 20 years old. Lightweight, sturdy, comfortable, all around low profile. The only thing I would critique is the gear loops could be a few cm further out. Sometimes when climbing my shirt bunches and if I choose the wrong cam and go to put it back on my harness the shirt gets in the way due to the loop being so close to the body. But I guess that just means I need to get better at picking the right cams when placing gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Burly. This thing is tough. This harness gets rubbed across rock constantly in cracks and chimneys, and has shown little wear from all the abrasion. This is my work horse and my favorite harness. My only change to it would be to make the gear loops bigger.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable, Small Gear Loops The padding on this harness is very comfortable. Slide buckle makes putting it on and taking it off very easy. The 5th gear loop on the back is nice to have for miscellaneous stuff. Could improve with larger gear loops for more space for gear. Also the 5th loop hangs a little low and could be brought up a bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from durable harness I’ve used this harness for a year now. Pros: the outer material on this thing is bomber, like carharts w/ double layer knees—very durable and ready to take abuse. It’s also relatively thin and light weight, esp given the surface area of the waist and leg loops. I love this about the harness. Cons: my main complaint concerns the gear loops. Yeah, as others have complained, I wouldn’t mind if they were bigger. But that’s not what bothers me; it’s how and where the gear loops are sewn into the waist belt. The plastic part of the gear loop is sewn into the edge, such that there’s these little hard spots around the bottom. When loaded up with a lot of gear and/or spending time at hanging belays, those little pieces of plastic in the waist belt dig into your side and/or waist and get fairly annoying after a long day—like having a bb-sized pebble sewn in there. My wife has this harness and also complains about this issue. I’m no designer, but it seems like it wouldn’t be hard to fix this issue without sacrificing the strength of the gear loop by having the plastic part not be sewn into the waist belt. Overall, a very durable harness and it’s very comfortable—except for this one nagging issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epic! Light weight and durable, provides much needed comfort for long days spent from hanging belays. Cheers!
